Role Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented RCM/Billing Specialist with prior clinical experience as a PT, PTA, OT, COTA, or similar. Your unique blend of clinical understanding and billing expertise will help our clients get paid faster, reduce denials, and navigate the complex world of payer requirements with confidence. Key Responsibilities • Manage end-to-end RCM tasks: charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and A/R follow-up • Review clinical documentation to ensure billing compliance with payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve issues through appeals or resubmissions • Conduct benefit verifications and eligibility checks as needed • Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure clean claim submission and minimal documentation errors • Track and report KPIs such as denial rates, days in A/R, and revenue per visit • Stay updated with billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), payer policy changes, and compliance regulations • Act as a liaison between clinical teams and billing operations for smoother workflows Qualifications • Clinical experience required: Former PT, PTA, OT, COTA, or equivalent (active license not required) • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in physical therapy billing or RCM • Strong understanding of rehab-specific billing codes, modifiers, and payer requirements • Familiarity with EMRs and clearinghouses (WebPT, Clinicient, TheraOffice, Athena, etc.) • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills • Detail-oriented and highly organized Nice-to-Have • Knowledge of CMS/MIPS reporting • Experience with insurance credentialing or patient billing • Familiarity with SPRY or similar platforms Why Join Us? • Make a real difference in helping clinics stay financially strong • Use your clinical background in a new and rewarding way • Be part of a passionate, purpose-driven team • Flexible remote work and career growth opportunities
