You would lead technology projects from planning through go-live, overseeing scope, budgets, stakeholder communication, acquisition integrations, infrastructure upgrades, and service desk readiness.
The role requires at least five years of IT project management experience, Agile or Waterfall methodology proficiency, a related bachelor's degree, and experience with data migrations and network infrastructure.
Spring Education Group is a national network of independent schools serving students from preschool through 12th grade. We believe that students can achieve more than they imagine. Each Spring school offers a carefully designed program led by expert educators who cultivate academic excellence, student independence, and a lasting love of learning. Our tuition-funded model allows our schools to create an open, transparent culture and a strong community, without the distractions of fundraising. We are building our network of schools to bring our distinctive approach to inspiring students to more families across America. IT Project Manager – Spring Education Group As an IT Project Manager at Spring Education Group, you will lead technology projects from planning through go-live and handoff to IT operations. You will manage scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communication for acquisition integrations, data migrations, platform rollouts, and infrastructure upgrades across our schools and brands. You will partner with IT operations, shared services, academic and school leadership, and external vendors to deliver reliable systems that support students, families, and employees. You will adapt your project management approach to the work, build privacy and security requirements into project plans, and prepare school and business teams for each change. Project Delivery and Portfolio Coordination Lead IT projects from initiation through completion: define scope, develop schedules and budgets, coordinate resources, and track milestones. Select and adapt Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, PRINCE2, or hybrid delivery methods to fit each project and team. Maintain project plans, status reports, decision records, and RAID logs documenting risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies. Manage multiple concurrent projects and help IT leadership prioritize the project portfolio. Acquisition Integration and Data Migration Lead the IT workstream for acquisitions and divestitures, from due diligence and Day 1 readiness through full integration. Assess acquired schools’ systems, contracts, and security posture, and develop integration roadmaps. Coordinate identity, email, device, network, and application cutovers while minimizing disruption to students, families, and employees. Oversee data mapping, cleansing, validation, test loads, and migration cutovers. Establish reconciliation and sign-off criteria with data owners and maintain rollback plans. Protect sensitive student, employee, and financial data throughout each migration. Technology Platforms and Infrastructure Manage Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 projects, including tenant consolidations, migrations, licensing changes, and new service rollouts. Lead ServiceNow projects involving new modules, workflows, service catalogs, and integrations in partnership with the platform team. Coordinate site build-outs, wide area network and local area network (WAN/LAN) upgrades, Wi-Fi improvements, firewall changes, and circuit transitions. Compliance and Change Governance Build regulatory, privacy, and security requirements into project plans from the start. Partner with security and compliance teams on risk assessments, vendor reviews, and audit evidence. Follow change management processes and complete required documentation before go-live. Stakeholder Communication and Vendor Management Serve as the primary project contact for sponsors, school leaders, and business teams, communicating progress, risks, and decisions clearly. Manage vendors and implementation partners against statements of work, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate communication and training so end users are prepared for new systems and processes. Service Desk Readiness and Improvement Partner with the service desk to prepare for each launch, including ticket categories, routing, service level agreements (SLAs), knowledge articles, and staffing. Use incident, request, and problem trends to identify and scope improvement projects. Lead service desk improvements, including self-service portals, catalog redesigns, automation, and processes aligned with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework. What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. At least five years of experience managing IT projects, including multiple projects running concurrently. Hands-on experience using more than one project management methodology, such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, or hybrid approaches, with sound judgment about when to use each. Demonstrated delivery of at least one large data migration or system cutover. Working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration concepts, licensing, and migration paths. Solid understanding of network infrastructure fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and internet service provider (ISP) circuits. Experience with project tracking tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana, or ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM). Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reporting project status and risks to senior leadership. At least two years working in or closely with an IT service desk, with a working understanding of incident, request, problem, and change management. Ability to manage vendors, contracts, and budgets. Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering projects under privacy, security, accessibility, or regulatory frameworks is a significant plus, including one or more of the following: Student and child privacy: Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and state student data privacy laws such as California’s Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA).
