The successful candidate will collaborate across infrastructure and security teams, apply industry best practices, and produce high-quality documentation. Key Responsibilities • Operate, maintain, and optimize SD-WAN, routing/switching, and security platforms, including configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, and incident resolution. • Lead design and upgrade initiatives for SD-WAN (overlay/underlay, HA, QoS, application steering, segmentation, and policy-based routing). • Administer next-generation firewalls (Fortinet) and load balancers (F5 / AVI NSX Advanced Load Balancer); enforce security controls and zero-trust principles. • Support enterprise wireless technologies and identity-centric access (e.g., Cisco ISE) to strengthen posture and user experience. • Automate routine tasks and configuration changes using Terraform/Ansible and scripting (Python/Bash/Perl/JavaScript). • Monitor availability and performance using NetFlow, syslog, tcpdump, Wireshark, and related tools; develop dashboards, reports, and runbooks. • Produce clear methods of procedure (MOPs), architecture diagrams, rollback plans, and contribute to ITIL-aligned incident, change, and problem management processes. Required Qualifications • 12+ years of progressive experience in network engineering/architecture, including enterprise SD-WAN and complex routing/switching. • CCNP (Security or Enterprise) or equivalent depth of hands-on expertise. • Extensive, hands-on Fortinet experience (policy design, IPS/AV, SSL inspection, IPSec remote-access/site-to-site, SD-WAN health checks). • Advanced Cisco CLI proficiency; strong knowledge of EIGRP/OSPF/BGP/MPLS; L2/L3 (802.1Q, STP/RSTP, EtherChannel), ACLs, QoS, VXLAN, DNS/DHCP; TCP/IP/UDP, SSL/TLS, HTTP/S, SIP/RTP. • Familiarity with RADIUS/PKI, certificates, and secure remote access (IPSec, L2TP). • Demonstrated troubleshooting capability and a methodical approach to change execution and incident handling. • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce rigorous documentation. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Cisco WLAN operations and Cisco ISE policy/AAA. • Familiarity with ITIL practices and governance. • Experience in public-sector or regulated environments. Additional Information • Work arrangement: Remote (U.S.), with occasional after-hours support during planned change windows. • Eligibility: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship availability, if any, will be evaluated case-by-case. • Equal Opportunity: We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourage applications from all qualified individuals.
