Responsibilities

The Tax & Treasury Associate will assist with the management of corporate income tax compliance and sales and use tax compliance for Spinrite companies. Additionally, the role involves managing day-to-day cash flow and conducting bank reconciliations.

Requirements

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting and at least 3 years of experience in an accounting, tax, or finance role. Previous exposure to corporate income tax and sales tax compliance is required.

Full Description

Duties and responsibilities: Assist with the management of US and Canadian corporate income tax compliance for all Spinrite companies, including coordination of tax return preparation with outside tax service providers, preparation of income tax provisions, monitoring and executing tax installment payments. Assist with the management of sales and use tax compliance for all Spinrite companies, including the use of Avalara for tax return preparation, executing payments and support of tax audits. Take the lead on special tax compliance–related projects as assigned. Assist with the management of day-to-day cash flow of Spinrite companies, including monitoring and reporting on bank borrowings. Perform analysis to support a foreign exchange (FX) currency hedging program. Conduct daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records. Perform month-end close activities related to bank reconciliations and other related duties. Assist with the management of insurance requests and the maintenance of company insurance policies, including coordinating and collecting data for the annual insurance renewal, reviewing results, and preparing summary reports. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting, or equivalent experience. 3+ years' experience in an accounting, tax, or finance role. Previous exposure to corporate income tax and/or sales and use tax compliance. Working knowledge of Tax. Proficiency in developing Excel models. Software experience with ERP and Bl systems is an asset. Proficient in developing excel models. Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Ability to prioritize work-load effectively and meet time sensitive deadlines. Critical attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
