The Personal Injury (PI) Case Manager serves as the primary liaison between personal injury patients, healthcare providers, attorneys, and insurance companies. This role ensures seamless coordination of care, accurate documentation, and timely communication to support patients’ medical and legal needs. Oversight of Responsibilities: 1. Patient Care & Coordination Serve as the main point of contact for personal injury patients throughout their treatment plan. Schedule and track patient appointments, follow-ups, diagnostic testing, and referrals. Ensure patients understand their care plan and address any questions or concerns. Foster clear communication and collaboration with physicians, clinical staff, attorneys and patients to ensure a coordinated transparent process. 2. Case Management & Documentation Maintain accurate, organized medical records related to each personal injury case. Track and update case status, treatment progress, and outstanding documentation. Ensure all medical reports, bills, and treatment summaries are prepared for attorney requests. 3. Legal & Attorney Liaison Communicate with attorneys regarding treatment updates, records requests, and billing. Provide detailed medical documentation to support legal claims and settlement demands. Monitor lien agreements and ensure proper authorization before releasing records. 4. Billing & Financial Oversight Work closely with billing staff to manage PI-specific billing processes. Verify attorney liens, letters of protection (LOPs), or insurance coverage for each case. Assist with resolving billing disputes or unpaid balances on PI cases. 5. Compliance & Quality Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all communications. Ensure all documentation meets legal and medical standards. Stay updated on PI industry practices, billing guidelines, and legal trends. ________________________________________ Qualifications Required: Prior experience in a medical office, legal office, or personal injury case management role. Strong understanding of personal injury workflows, medical documentation, and legal processes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and manage multiple cases simultaneously. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred: Experience with medical billing and coding for personal injury cases. Knowledge of lien agreements, letters of protection, and insurance processes.
