About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 10 The Role: Product Platforms Design Product Owner - Commercial, S&P Dow Jones Indices The Location: US/New York; UK/London, India The Impact S&P Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI) serves the financial services industry as a leader in providing indices used for investment products and portfolio benchmarking. Our indices underpin leading Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), exchange-traded derivatives (ETDs), structured products, OTC instruments, and play a crucial role in the investment landscape. The Team The Product and Operations team oversees a diverse portfolio of index products-including iconic benchmarks like the S&P 500-setting strategic priorities that drive growth, innovation, and client value across S&P Dow Jones Indices. Within this organization, the Product Platforms Design team plays a central role in shaping user-centered, scalable product platform experiences that power the full index lifecycle. We are a collaborative, forward-looking team that blends product, design, and technology expertise to deliver intuitive, integrated solutions with measurable business impact. This role reports into the Product Platforms Design Lead for the Commercial Value Stream, which underpins Lead-to-Cash processes and data distribution enablement. The team partners closely with Commercial, Finance, Product, Technology, and Index Operations to optimize workflows, accelerate product delivery, and enhance transparency across the full index commercialization process and customer engagement journey. Responsibilities and Impact The Product Platforms Design Product Owner - Commercial is responsible for delivering user-centered, technology-enabled solutions that optimize how commercial systems and data distribution platforms are designed and maintained. Working within an Agile team, this role translates strategy and user insights into actionable product features that drive measurable efficiency and business value. Key responsibilities include: • User Experience and Flow Design: Apply flow-based design thinking to create seamless, intuitive user experiences across the commercialization process of indices and data. • Backlog Ownership: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog for commercial and data distribution platforms, ensuring alignment with business strategy, compliance standards, and operational needs. • Execution Leadership: Write clear, testable user stories that meet the Definition of Ready and Done, supporting Agile sprint planning and delivery. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, designers, and other Product Owners across Value Streams to manage dependencies and ensure consistent delivery across asset classes and systems. • Stakeholder Communication: Use structured feedback loops and customer advocacy to influence roadmap direction and drive continuous improvement across equity platform capabilities. • Delivery Excellence: Lead product demos, contribute to MVP planning, and support training and feature rollouts to maximize value realization for internal and external users. This role contributes directly to the scalability, accuracy, and innovation of S&P DJI's index and data commercialization process -enabling seamless connectivity between data, technology, and client outcomes. What We're Looking For Basic Required Qualifications • Experience in product management or product ownership within an Agile and scaled Agile (SAFe) environment. • Ability to translate complex user and business requirements into actionable backlog items and deliverables. • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills to align stakeholders across Product, Technology, and Index Operations. • Data-driven approach to prioritization and decision-making, balancing user value with technical feasibility. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and influence outcomes across teams. • Demonstrated curiosity and empathy in engaging with users to uncover insights and improve product usability. Additional Preferred Qualifications • Understanding of Lead-to-Cash ecosystems, CRM (e.g., Salesforce), contract lifecycle management, or billing systems, with the ability to connect business needs to product platform solutions. • Experience commercial systems, CRM, billing, or data distribution platforms. • Familiarity with data integrations, workflow automation, or index lifecycle tooling. • Exposure to financial technology platforms or cloud-based enterprise systems. • Understanding of product analytics, feedback loops, and continuous improvement methodologies. Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
