Full Description

SCI, the leading executive search firm in the real estate industry, is seeking a Director of Purchasing to oversee all procurement strategy and operations across our client’s portfolio and corporate office. This individual will be responsible for developing purchasing policies, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring that all materials, services, and equipment are sourced efficiently and in compliance with company standards. This is a high-impact leadership role that will work closely with senior executives, property management teams, and risk management to align purchasing activities with business objectives. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals and budgets. • Oversee all procurement activities including purchasing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and inventory oversight. • Develop and manage RFPs and bid analyses to support vendor selection and pricing decisions. • Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls that promote consistency, compliance, and cost efficiency. • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and high-quality service. • Collaborate with Property Management, Accounting, and Risk Management to forecast needs, manage orders, and resolve procurement challenges. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. • Progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within property management, real estate, or construction. • At least 3 years of leadership experience overseeing purchasing or procurement functions. • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills. • Excellent communication and leadership abilities. • Knowledge of contract law, purchasing best practices, and compliance standards. • Experience implementing or managing purchasing systems; Yardi experience strongly preferred.
