Position Overview The LTL Trucking Operations Manager leads day-to-day transportation and terminal activities with a focus on safety, efficiency, and service reliability. This role is responsible for aligning people, processes, and equipment to ensure smooth freight movement while maintaining regulatory compliance and controlling operating costs. The Operations Manager is a hands-on leader who drives continuous improvement and supports scalable operations. Key Responsibilities • Direct and support dispatch, driver, dock, and operations teams through coaching, performance oversight, and workforce planning. • Create, refine, and enforce operational processes that improve productivity and service consistency. • Oversee daily transportation functions, including dispatch execution and pickup and delivery coordination. • Evaluate routes, schedules, and operational output to improve service levels and cost control. • Plan loads and manage fleet and equipment usage to optimize capacity and utilization. • Review labor hours, attendance, and performance trends, addressing issues as needed. • Utilize monitoring tools to promote safe driving behaviors and address violations or risks. • Partner with IT and systems teams to resolve operational technology issues and enhance workflows. • Act as the primary point of contact for hazardous materials handling and compliance. • Maintain compliance with all applicable transportation, safety, and environmental regulations. • Track operational KPIs, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective solutions. • Stay informed on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging transportation technologies. • Perform additional operational and leadership duties as assigned. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related discipline preferred. • 3–5 years of leadership experience within transportation, trucking, or logistics operations. • In-depth understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards. • Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and influence operational outcomes. • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills. • Experience working with transportation management systems, routing tools, and standard business software. • Ability to interpret operational data and apply insights to improve performance. • Willingness to work non-standard schedules, including evenings or weekends when operationally necessary. #SEAWA
