Maintenance & Transport Manager TITLE: Maintenance & Transport Manager REPORTS TO: President & CEO FLSA: Exempt SALARY RANGE: $47,000 – $57,000 annually POSITION PURPOSE The Maintenance & Transport Manager is responsible for the daily maintenance, safety, and functionality of SPCA Cincinnati’s campuses, vehicles, and grounds. This role ensures that all facilities remain operational, safe, clean, and welcoming for animals, staff, volunteers, and the public. The majority of this position focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, vendor coordination, and campus upkeep. In addition, this role coordinates and executes weekly animal transport for scheduled media appearances and select organizational needs. This is a hands-on operational leadership position for someone who is dependable, mechanically capable, and takes pride in maintaining mission-critical environments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Facilities Operations & Maintenance (Primary Focus) Performs and oversees preventive and corrective maintenance across all campuses. Handles hands-on repairs including: Minor plumbing and electrical Drywall and painting Door hardware and fencing Kennel repairs and equipment troubleshooting Ensures HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems are functioning properly. Maintains maintenance logs and tracks recurring issues. Coordinates contractors and service vendors for specialized repairs. Prepares facilities for inspections and ensures compliance with safety standards. Identifies and proactively addresses facility needs before they become urgent issues. Grounds & Campus Presentation Oversees landscaping coordination, snow/ice removal, waste management, and overall campus appearance. Ensures campuses are safe and professional in presentation. Transport & Fleet Support (Recurring Weekly Responsibility) Transports adoptable animals to and from: Tuesday morning TV appearance Tuesday afternoon TV appearance Wednesday morning radio appearance Saturday morning TV appearance Ensures animals are safely secured, calm, and presentation-ready. Coordinates logistics with Marketing and Animal Care teams. Maintains cleanliness and safety of transport vehicles. Assists with additional inter-campus transport of animals, equipment, or supplies as needed. Transport responsibilities are structured and recurring but represent a portion of the overall role. Safety & Emergency Response Responds to urgent facility issues (leaks, HVAC failures, power outages). Ensures emergency systems are tested and maintained. Supports safe environments for staff, volunteers, animals, and visitors QUALIFICATIONS Facilities maintenance or property maintenance experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Strong reliability and time management. Ability to manage multiple campuses. Preferred Multi-site maintenance experience. Experience in animal-care, nonprofit, warehouse, or industrial settings. Basic trade certifications.
