Trader and Financial Analyst Our client, an independent investment advisory firm committed to high-quality portfolio management and unrivaled client services, is seeking a full-time Trader and Financial Analyst to join their Investment Operations team. This is a challenging hybrid role which combines trading execution with private fund oversight, performance reporting, and operational support. The successful Trader and Financial Analyst is collaborative and mission-focused and brings strong technical expertise, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset. This role needs the proven ability to manage complex trading activities and support the firm’s investment and operational initiatives. Responsibilities include: Trading & Execution • Execute small-scale trading activities, including: • Cashiering requests • Client buy/sell requests • Firm rebalances for under 100 accounts • Manage large-scale trading activities, including: • Firm rebalances across 500+ accounts • Block trades within dozen+ model portfolios • Apply execution judgment to determine: • When to place market orders vs. alternative order types • When to escalate and call in trades to the custodian’s risk desk • Ensure all trading activity complies with SEC rules and internal compliance procedures • Maintain and reconcile trade activity report Fund Oversight & Maintenance • Assist in due diligence and research for prospective private fund investments • Maintain documentation, reporting, and regulatory files for active private fund holdings • Manage and update private fund data and transactions in Black Diamond Reporting, ensuring accuracy and integration with portfolio performance • Collaborate with Legal/Compliance to ensure fund documentation and operations are current Technology & Reporting • Become an expert in the firm’s technology platforms, including: • Black Diamond • Black Diamond CRM • Proprietary internal systems • Manage and refine use of “Frank,” the firm’s custom Excel-based tool for investment proposals and performance illustrations • Provide accurate, timely performance reporting for client portfolios Billing & Administrative Support • Lead the monthly billing process, including fee calculations, reconciliations, and postings across platforms • Assist in onboarding new clients and prospects, including data aggregation and proposal development • Support investment research, special projects, and firm initiatives as needed Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required • 5+ years of experience in trading, investment operations, or financial analysis (RIA, asset management, or brokerage preferred) • Familiarity with custodians (Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Interactive Brokers) • Experience with account aggregation and reporting platforms (Black Diamond strongly preferred) • Knowledge of SEC trade compliance rules and best execution standards • Strong technical skills, including Advanced Excel • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, team-oriented environment ----------------------------------------------------------------- This job is Hybrid or Remote position working in East Coast Time Zone.
