About Space Valves Space Valves is a rapidly growing aerospace startup designing and manufacturing fluid control hardware for launch vehicles, satellites, and spacecraft. Our components support missions that put payloads into orbit and advance humanity’s expansion beyond Earth. We work closely with leading spaceflight partners to deliver reliable, high-performance hardware. Office & Finance Administrator (Part-Time) We are looking for a new team member to help manage the financial and business operations. Join us in our mission to provide our partners with the hardware that they need to reach orbit and allow humans to extend off planet. Location: Onsite (non-negotiable) Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week. Hours are flexible and workload may vary or pause depending on business needs. Pay: $35/hour (no benefits) Working Environment Space Valves operates as a small, highly collaborative engineering team where individuals are trusted to manage their responsibilities with minimal oversight. This role works directly with company leadership and will have visibility into company operations, customers, and growth activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, organizing ambiguous tasks, and helping bring structure to a fast-moving startup environment. Responsibilities • Maintain bookkeeping records in QuickBooks, including accounts payable and receivable. • Generate, issue, and track customer invoices and payment status. • Coordinate payroll processing and maintain employee payroll documentation. • Manage payment of rent, utilities, and recurring vendor obligations. • Track purchase orders, expenses, and basic cost documentation. • Maintain company compliance accounts with all state and federal branches. • Maintain organized digital records for contracts, invoices, and financial documents. • Coordinate with external CPA or tax professionals during reporting periods. • Monitor subscriptions, insurance renewals, and business licensing deadlines. • Provide administrative and financial support to leadership as needed. Qualifications • Experience with bookkeeping or small-business financial administration. • Proficiency using QuickBooks or similar accounting software. • Familiarity with payroll coordination and employee record management. • Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage confidential financial and employee information with discretion. • Experience coordinating vendor payments, leases, or recurring obligations preferred. • Familiarity with state compliance administrations. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and manage variable workloads in a flexible, part-time environment.
