WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Business Development and Communication Advisor is responsible for making long term relationships with organizations, state/local government, and educational institutions to represent the company and generate business. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU: • Proactively cultivate and sustain long-term relationships with privately owned organizations, state/local government, and educational institutions • Serve as a Brand Ambassador representing SMC • Collaborate with Senior leadership on various projects/causes SMC may be involved with for public relations purposes • Cultivate leadership roles on local chamber of commerce, and other organizations that can be used to generate business for SMC • Cultivate leadership roles on the Board of Directors of organizations that uphold SMC's Mission Vision and Values • Create and develop events for the benefit of the Property Management and Hospitality divisions • Advise Senior Leadership on SWOT analysis for reputational risks • Develop and manage programs and resources for SMC and their customers • Create and update contact database for external entities • Actively participate in related committee meetings within Southern Management • Attend evening/weekend meetings/events when needed • Develop & facilitate training as needed • Assist with management of Company Scholarship and Community Programs • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor • Contribute to team/company engagement efforts JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Excellent communion skills with the ability to interface with high-level professionals • Excellent project management skills • Knowledgeable of standards, procedures and practices within Southern Management Companies • Ability to cultivate and maintain long-term partnerships/relationships with internal and external entities • Proficient computer skills • Strong orientation to detail and problem solving skills • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills • Bachelor's degree preferred • Property Management experience is a plus • Applicability of education or job experience as a substitution for the other may be considered
