Job Title: Safe Passages Program Coordinator (Parks & Recreation) Responsible for overseeing operations at: Mona Park, Magic Johnson Park, George Washington Carver Park, East Rancho Dominguez Park, and Lennox Park. Overview of position: Program Coordinators are a critical part of the administrative team. As an administrator, you are responsible for ensuring that the daily operations of the programs you oversee are running in a productive manner, and meeting all contractual benchmarks. You are also responsible for supporting your staff, and addressing any and all issues that may arise in the workplace. This position will work closely with Community Intervention Workers and Program Manager in identifying and addressing potential conflict in the designated park you are assigned to work in and around. The safe passages team will deliver services that reduce violence by leveraging existing community relationships in order to resolve conflict when possible. This can involve mediation between rivals, organizing truces, rumor control, mentoring youth and providing referrals. This position will be expected to follow program policies and procedures. All other administrators are here to assist you and support you in any way possible, making everyone’s job easier. Duties and responsibilities: • Oversee designated programs assigned to you by the Director of Operations & Executive Director • Adhere to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and all other policies • Build and establish relationships with Parks staff • Build community relationships and participle in community development programming • Work collaboratively with Director of Operations • Support and coordinate community events to ensure success of events • Work strategically with Intervention agencies to ensure safety within and outside Park communities • Facilitate administrative duties requested by management • Document problematic behavior of each employee when needed • Monitor and address employee’s punctuality and absenteeism • Ensures compliance with all contracts and grants responsible for • Mediate conflict between your employees, and work towards a positive resolution • Supervise daily operations, including direct services, administration and record keeping • Consistently address any concerns or issues with clients and their families • Conduct mentoring services, providing critical follow up and support to individuals • Assist in rumor control by providing accurate incident-related information to the community • Assist students' safe passage to and from school or parks • Create and develop relationships with gang members in the assigned area • Identify local conflicts in order to discuss and respond with coworkers • Work to create and maintain non-violent relationships between community members • Work to mitigate the influences of gang members who wish to disrupt your efforts • Represents the organization at various agency and community meetings • Attends meetings and trainings, as required • Maintain positive and consistent ‘business casual’ dress code • Maintain healthy self-care for your personal well being • Participate in training and self-care activities when provided by Crossroads • Work a flexible schedule, which may include weekend shifts • Any other duties not listed above to ensure program and client success If you are passionate about helping others and have experience in behavioral health or related fields, we encourage you to apply for this position.
