There are also South Carolina landmarks such as Atalaya, the picturesque, Moorish-style winter home of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, philanthropist and sculptor, respectively, who left the park and adjacent Brookgreen Gardens as their legacy. Job Purpose And Duties Directs and coordinates the operation of retail facilities which will include the gift shop, Atalaya, Spoonbills Ice Cream Shop and any future facilities that may carry retail. Will be involved with accounting of all revenues generated, accountability of all inventories, staff scheduling, as well as training and supervising customer service-oriented services. • Directs requisitioning, storage, and distribution of forms, supplies, and equipment. • Supervise and train all retail staff members. • Maintains a safe retail environment to ensure the safety of the park staff and visitors. • Under the Retail Manager, Employee will supervise and participates in the preparation of the park's fiscal records to include weekly operational reports as well as monthly and yearly operational summaries. • Ensures that established policies, procedures and guidelines are followed in the collection and accounting of all revenues associated with retail outlets. • Work to accomplish the mission of the Park Service through the core values of Stewardship and Service. Effectively deliver quality customer service and address visitor concerns in a timely manner. Work to ensure that visitors leave with a positive experience and a desire to return. • Practice and promote teamwork within the work unit/office, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year. Minimum And Additional Requirements An associate degree in business, retail or public administration and two years park experience, administration or managerial experience, or High School graduate with minimum four (4) years related experience. Additional Requirements • Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking, and standing on uneven terrain. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents, and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Employee will work with computers such as cash register, calculators, scanners, and other related devices • Must possess an ability to present clear, concise, and comprehensive oral and written reports. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must possess the ability to maintain a positive working relationship with the general public and staff members. • Possess valid South Carolina Driver's License. Will be required to get Serve Safe Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire. Get Serve Safe Food Manager Training within 6 months of hire. Additional Comments Actual Job Location: Huntington Beach State Park Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
