Title: Senior Research Software Engineer - Human Behavior and Carbon Neutrality (Contract) Pay Range: $100/hr - $161/hr (W-2) plus benefits (see below) Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm PST, remote with preference given to Bay Area candidates Job description: Partner across disciplines to create new interactive prototypes and support human subjects research data collection. In this role, you will build custom web apps (front and back-end) and the back end for mobile applications (iOS, Android) and will also support A/B testing and AI/ML model training and deployment. We're looking for someone with 5+ years of software development experience in a research setting, including expertise in AWS, FastAPI, JavaScript, and Python. Responsibilities: - Work with scientists and engineers to design and build systems that support research goals. - Assist research teams in developing their project's schedule. - Iteratively develop user interfaces that showcase research concepts. - Interface with other engineering teams to coordinate software development, utilize AWS infrastructure, and ensure software meets information security requirements. - Manage your time across projects. - Grow with other research software engineers on the HCAl team.
