Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient movement, loading, and unloading of materials within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical aptitude, and a safety-conscious mindset. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will contribute to maintaining smooth shipping and receiving processes, supporting overall warehouse productivity. Duties Operate various types of heavy equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, and pallet jacks to load and unload goods efficiently and safely. Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately track inventory movements and order picking activities. Perform heavy lifting tasks and materials handling with precision, ensuring proper stacking and storage of products. Assist with order picking processes, including picker operations, to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly. Support shipping and receiving functions by verifying incoming shipments, inspecting for damages, and organizing outgoing deliveries. Maintain compliance with OSHA standards by adhering to safety protocols during all equipment operation and materials handling activities. Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly. Coordinate with warehouse supervisors to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency during daily operations. Assist in the training of new team members on safe equipment operation and warehouse procedures as needed. Experience Minimum of two years’ experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy equipment within a warehouse or construction environment. Proficiency in warehouse distribution practices, including order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling. Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and general warehouse safety protocols. Previous warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with warehouse management roles is a plus. Knowledge of construction site logistics or heavy lifting techniques enhances operational effectiveness. Strong understanding of pallet jack operation, clamp truck handling, and load & unload procedures for diverse materials.
