Salary range is $81k to $186k, with a midpoint of $133k. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market. This is a term limited position of 3 years. GENERAL PURPOSE: The Senior Solutions Engineer is responsible for determining requirements, designing, developing, debugging, testing, implementing, maintaining, administering, monitoring and supporting technical solutions using existing and emerging technologies, particularly on, but not limited to, the agency's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications such as Maximo and other transit operations applications as needed. Provides business analysis to internal and external customers to assist them with use of technology; develops and updates documentation for technical manuals, technical systems architecture, system specifications, test scripts, and training manuals; provides coordination between other IT teams and division that include hardware, networking, applications, software, applications and peripherals; and develops standards and methodologies for administering applications. This role collaborates with end users and cross departmental IT and business teams to build and implement new systems to solve business problems and help focus and align IT services and business needs. This is a hands-on technical role. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. * Implement and configure ERP Platform solutions based on business objectives, requirements and specifications. * Manages integrations with other Enterprise systems and applications. Creates/builds new integrations using a variety of integration technologies and techniques. * Participate as team resource on projects to collaborate with users and IT resources to identify and develop functional and process requirements, and review and advise on solution recommendations. * Coordinates with software vendors to understand optimum platform and software configurations and usage, to achieve application functional and process requirements based on vendor recommendations and best practices. * Facilitate the translation of business objectives and requirements into functional solutions using Agile and Waterfall methodologies as appropriate * Prepare and document requirements, solution diagrams, flowcharts, layouts and test plans * Analyze, define, estimate, and document work Level of Effort. * Design, develop, test, debug, and implement technical solutions based on existing and emerging technologies * Communicate concisely and effectively to address questions while providing subject matter expertise. * Respond to critical or changing priorities. * Explain complex technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences. * Connect technological solutions with user and agency needs. * Develop innovative technical approaches as complete solutions to business problems. * Provides support of implemented solutions; oversees account management, account creation, changes and deletion; performs application & technical process support, error support (troubleshooting), and enhancement support; and performs maintenance and system security as required/needed. * Participates in preventative maintenance weekends and after-hours maintenances (as needed) to ensure patches and critical updates are applied to applications, platforms and infrastructure; documents work performed and maintains accurate change management records; updates system documentation and process documentation as needed. * Drive problem investigations and resolution as required. * Performs troubleshooting, upgrades, testing, and maintenance of ERP and other major systems and applications in assigned area. * Works with customers to provide requirements and process analysis, develop system design and system specifications; provides customer service and support to diverse internal and external customers. * Develops test data and scripts; develops and updates documentation such as technical manuals, technical system architecture, system specifications, test scripts, and training manuals; applies knowledge and skills from technical publications, manuals and other documents to systems maintenance and operations. * Procures new systems and applications, as directed; works with the vendor to implement and configure these applications to suit business and technical requirements of the agency. * Assists manager in tracking application licenses, costs, and budgets. * Monitors performance of systems and processors and troubleshoots issues and alarms; responds to alarms and issues as level 2 support and directs resolution of issues as required. * Provides support to the division/department on matters as directed; serves as staff on a variety of committees; maintains awareness of new trends and developments in the fields related to area of assignment; ensures processes, policies and practices are interpreted and applied consistently and effectively; ensures accountability and compliance with all current and applicable state and federal laws, Agency policies and procedures, rules and regulations. * Communicate product status, risks, and outcomes through clear, transparent reporting. * Escalate issues appropriately and proactively manage dependencies and risks. * Enable collaboration across product delivery, development, engineering and business teams. * Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-focused product thinking. * Champions and models Sound Transit's core values and demonstrates values-based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency. * Contributes to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in alignment with Sound Transit’s Equity & Inclusion Policy. * It is the responsibility of all employees to follow the Agency safety rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to their assigned duties and responsibilities, which could include systems, operations, and/or other employees. * It is the responsibility of all employees to integrate sustainability into everyday business practices. * Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Five years of experience in hands-on experience in information technology that includes administering enterprise level, networked business applications, along with experience in business analysis which includes designing and documenting requirements and process flows. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Licenses or Certifications: * Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications ERP Process Essentials Certified * Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning Certified Professional * ITIL v3 or v4 Certification. Physical Demands / Work Environment: * Work is performed in a hybrid environment with an expectation of working in office a minimum of 3 days per week. * This position is reponsible for managing a number of administration screens and programs that may not be up to accessibility standards.
