Head of Marketing and Growth / Chief Communication Officer Sona AI Location: Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Remote (US based) About Sona AI Sona AI is an executive-grade communication platform built around one core idea your writing should always sound like you. The product captures an individual’s communication style and instantly rewrites messages in their exact voice with clarity, confidence, and consistency. Our early users include founders, investors, executives, and high performing professionals who rely on written communication as part of their daily workflow. We operate at the intersection of personalization, communication, and productivity. The goal is simple create a premium, trusted tool that becomes part of someone’s everyday work life Role Overview: Sona AI is seeking a senior marketing and growth leader to own how the market hears about Sona and how the company acquires its first major wave of users. This is a strategic role at the leadership level and will partner closely with Product, Technology, and the Founder. The title is flexible Head of Marketing and Growth, Chief Communication Officer, or similar depending on experience. The ideal candidate has a proven record of designing and running end to end go to market functions, building premium brands, and driving meaningful customer acquisition for early stage products. This is a hands on role that blends strategy, execution, storytelling, and leadership. Key Responsibilities Brand, Story, and Positioning • Shape and own the core narrative of Sona • Develop a premium executive-focused brand identity • Create messaging frameworks for the website, social channels, email, and product experiences Go to Market Strategy • Define and lead the launch strategy across channels • Build a multi stage acquisition strategy for early cohorts and broader scale • Translate vision into high impact campaigns and measurable outcomes Customer Acquisition and Growth • Own the acquisition funnel from awareness to paid conversion • Develop and optimize paid and organic channels • Design referral mechanisms and early adopter programs • Establish metrics, dashboards, and experimentation frameworks Public Relations and Communications • Drive earned media opportunities in relevant outlets • Manage communication strategy for announcements, launches, and company milestones • Support thought leadership initiatives across external platforms Content and Social Strategy • Build a content engine that educates and builds trust with professionals • Manage presence across LinkedIn, X, and other relevant channels • Create and maintain a content calendar aligned with GTM milestones Founder and Leadership Amplification • Support leadership in external communication, events, and partner messaging • Help shape the external voice and presence of Sona at the executive level Product Marketing • Partner with Product and Design to ensure the website, onboarding, and in-product moments support conversion • Develop launch frameworks for new features and capabilities • Conduct customer research to inform positioning, messaging, and product roadmap Lifecycle and Community • Build email flows, reengagement journeys, and nurture paths • Design and manage an early adopter community with high touch engagement Growth Infrastructure • Select and manage tools for attribution, experimentation, automation, and analytics • Establish marketing operations processes that support speed and scale What Success Looks Like A clear and consistent brand narrative that resonates with executives and professionals A premium website and social presence that reflects the quality of the product A repeatable and measurable user acquisition engine Strong early adopter community with meaningful engagement A clear understanding of which channels work, why they work, and how to scale them Qualifications Proven experience as a senior marketing or growth leader at a high growth startup or premium product organization Demonstrated ability to take a product from early stage to meaningful traction Strong storytelling, brand building, and communication skills Deep experience with customer acquisition, GTM design, and multi channel execution Ability to move fluidly between high level strategy and hands on execution Comfort partnering with Product, Engineering, and Executive teams Fluency with data, experimentation, and performance metrics High standards for visual identity and brand expression Preferred Experience Experience marketing products targeted at executives, founders, or professionals Experience at an early stage or seed stage company A portfolio of campaigns, launches, or brand work that shows taste and impact Compensation Combination of salary and leadership-level equity. Final package will reflect seniority and experience.
