Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Underwriting Operations Analyst in our Insurance Operations team. As an Underwriting Operations Analyst, you’ll be at the center of our underwriting process – ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while supporting experienced underwriters, underwriting technicians, brokers, and internal teams. Our business, your impact, our opportunity: What you’ll be doing: • Manage key stages of the policy lifecycle including binders, endorsements, renewals, and policy issuance using Guidewire Policy Center • Prepare renewal notices, ensuring all documentation aligns with underwriting requirements • Analyze operational data to identify trends and uncover opportunities for greater efficiency • Discover insights that guide leadership decisions and support company-wide goals • Partner with underwriting teams to refine workflows that improve speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction • Serve as a trusted liaison between underwriting teams, broker, and internal departments • Contribute to a supportive team environment by providing backup coverage during high-volume periods • Work with leadership to maintain high-quality standards and deliver exceptional service to our customers and partners • Train and mentor contingent staff, and new team members on our underwriting processes and best practices • Gain hands-on exposure to industry systems and tools (Guidewire, ImageRight, Power BI) • Build the foundation for future career opportunities What You’ll Bring: Required • 2+ years of experience in underwriting or underwriting support, preferably in commercial insurance • Strong knowledge of underwriting processes and property & casualty coverage • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with customer-first mindset Preferred • Experience with underwriting systems such as Guidewire or ImageRight • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI) • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate complex scenarios At Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
