About Us: Somerset Sales is an independent dealership specializing in the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicle makes and models. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality automotive care and exceptional customer service. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Technician to join our dynamic team. Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Auto Technician to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a diverse range of vehicles. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in automotive diagnostics, possesses their own tools, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities: • Perform accurate and efficient diagnostics on various vehicle makes and models to identify mechanical and electrical issues. • Conduct repairs and maintenance, including but not limited to engine repairs, brake systems, suspension, electrical systems, and routine maintenance services. • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot complex vehicle issues. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with shop safety standards. • Collaborate with team members, including service advisors and other technicians, to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery. • Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses and repairs when necessary. • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through continuous learning. • Document all work performed and maintain accurate service records. Qualifications: • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of vehicle makes and models. • Must possess a complete set of professional-grade tools required for automotive repair. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with colleagues and interacting with customers. • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. • ASE certifications or equivalent are highly preferred but not required. • Knowledge of modern automotive diagnostic tools and software. Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and working in confined spaces for extended periods. • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments typical of an automotive repair shop.
