Executive Director, Global Medical Affairs Lead – Solid Biosciences Solid Biosciences is a precision genetic medicine company focused on advancing a portfolio of gene therapy candidates targeting rare neuromuscular and cardiac diseases, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne), Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), TNNT2-mediated dilated cardiomyopathy, BAG3-mediated dilated cardiomyopathy, and additional fatal, genetic cardiac diseases. We are seeking an Executive Director to serve as our Global Medical Affairs Lead to oversee and execute the company’s medical strategy across its gene therapy portfolio, with a primary focus on launch readiness, scientific leadership and communication in close collaboration with Clinical Research and Development as well as Opinion Leader Programing. This individual will serve as a key scientific leader, building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and thought leaders while delivering complex medical and scientific information in therapeutic areas of strategic importance. This colleague will be responsible for conceiving of and leading strategies to build collaborations with leading scientists around exploring aspects of novel SLDB therapies that lay outside of regulatory clinical trials. This colleague may partner with Clinical Development to assist in trial activities in studies which for premarket products, in limited circumstances. The successful candidate will be responsible for synthesizing field insights to inform medical strategy, leading launch readiness activities including congress presence, advisory board coordination, medical education development, and publication planning. This role requires an innovative professional with strong scientific acumen, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a dynamic, pre-launch environment. The Medical Affairs leader will also provide mentorship and guidance to MSL team members, fostering excellence in scientific exchange and field medical operations. This role will report to the Chief Medical Officer and will be a Field based remote role. Key Position Responsibilities * Serve as the field-based Medical Affairs lead and representative established cultivate scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and treatment centers across Solid’s programs including the rare neuromuscular and cardiac communities on a Global basis. * Participate in refining KOL mapping and tiering; develop and execute customer-centric tactical engagement plans that support Medical Affairs strategies and advance understanding of the SLDB gene therapy pipeline portfolio and target diseases. * Gather and synthesize scientific insights through compliant scientific exchange to inform executable and innovative Medical Affairs strategies. Communicate coordinated field intelligence to the CMO (or delegate) and cross-teams including but not limited Opinion Leader Programing and Clinical Research and Development. * Serve as a resource for addressing unsolicited medical questions about Solid Biosciences' trials and investigational products, providing current, fair-balanced medical and scientific information * Lead (partner with Opinion Leader Programing) the preparation and execution of regional and national advisory board meetings, including delivering compelling presentations, facilitating interactive discussions, and capturing strategic insights from external experts to inform medical strategy and launch readiness * Provide clinical and scientific expertise in the development, management, and maintenance of clinical communications, educational materials, meeting presentations, FAQs, and training content * Contribute to publication planning activities by identifying publication opportunities, collaborating with medical communications on manuscript development, and engaging authors within the KOL network * Partner closely with Clinical Operations, Managed Markets, Commercial, and Opinion Leader Programming teams to ensure alignment of field medical activities with broader corporate objectives and launch readiness timelines * Provide mentorship, guidance, and strategic direction to MSL team members, foster excellence in scientific exchange, field medical operations, and professional development. Model Solid Biosciences' core values through collaborative working relationships and clear communication * As a field-based position with Global coverage with travel requirements of up to~75% (at times) of the time to support strategic engagement priorities and launch readiness activities * From time to time, to actively support clinical trial team to assist in site activities for pre-marketed products with strict attention to GCP This role will require significant travel as needed, including attendance at scientific congresses, advisory boards, field engagement meetings, and other events. Experience Requirements * MD, PhD, or PharmD * Preferably based in geography on the Eastern Coast of the United States * Minimum of 5 years of rare disease clinical or therapeutic experience in neuromuscular diseases (preferably in DMD), and/ or gene therapy with primary emphasis on field-based scientific exchange and/or clinical trial support * Must have current built relationships within the DMD therapeutic space with a global footprint * Expertise in clinical trial design, scientific data interpretation, competitive intelligence tools, drug information systems and medical marketing strategies * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional influencing / negotiating skills as well as extensive presentation and teaching skills * Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks to achieve established deadlines * Ability to work both independently and within project teams, committees, etc. to achieve group goals * Ability to lead and motivate team members without direct reporting relationship – * includes training and mentoring new MSLs and Medical Affairs Professionals * Creative problem solving and strategizing abilities Key Position Attributes * Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills * Excellent organizational and project management skills * Quick to grasp new clinical information * Strong collaborator with multi-disciplinary teams * Strategic thinker with a forward-looking perspective * High level of initiative, adaptability and commitment Compensation The base compensation range for this role is: $263,728 - $357,650 Base salary offered is determined through an internal analysis utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
