Full Description

A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available for the upcoming full semester at an elementary school location in Ypsilanti, MI, starting ASAP through June 5, 2026. This contract position requires an experienced educator licensed in Michigan with a focus on special education. The role involves managing a caseload that includes Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairment (CI) classrooms within elementary grade levels. Specifically, the teacher will be responsible for one 2nd/3rd grade classroom and one 4th/5th grade classroom, providing tailored support and instructional services that meet the unique needs of students with diverse learning profiles. Key Qualifications: • Active Michigan Special Education teaching license • Experience working with elementary students, particularly with ASD and CI • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) • Strong classroom management and communication skills • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Responsibilities: • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals • Monitor and document student progress regularly • Collaborate with staff, parents, and specialists to support student success • Modify teaching strategies to accommodate different learning needs • Maintain a safe and positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning Location: • Ypsilanti, Michigan (elementary school setting) Benefits of this contract include full-time hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive community school environment.
