We are looking for a Sr. Key Account Manager to join our Diversey Food & Beverage team based in New York! What You'll Do The Account Manager has the primary purpose of managing an assigned sales territory that includes a number of industrial food plants. Managing the territory involves leveraging a very broad set of technical and interpersonal skills while partnering with a broad range of employees at each account. An Account Manager is routinely expected to help identify problems and recommend solutions to improve sanitation, food safety, and related operational-based customer KPIs (i.e. water, energy, efficiencies) within customer locations. Routinely, they are often part of the implementation team as well. The goal is to drive sales and service under the umbrella of “Operational Excellence” by delivering quantifiable value and savings to our customers. This is accomplished by establishing strategic working relationships based on trust, integrity, and the ability to deliver a high level of expertise and service. Servicing Accounts - Plant chemical management, sanitation/food safety program review, training on safety, chemical use concentrations, troubleshooting cleaning issues, plant KPI value savings i.e. water, energy, and production time. Develop detailed knowledge of products, systems, and services offered by Diversey. Maintain and grow existing customer account base by promoting a full range of products and services, expanding customer portfolios, and increasing sales volume within existing customers. Complete detailed customer project reports, business reviews, cost calculators, and operational savings reports. Keep customers aware of changes in technology and introduce new products that will enhance their business. Identify and act on sales and growth opportunities on an ongoing basis. Determine new customer sales strategies through surveys/audits. Create detailed business proposals to meet prospects' priorities and present confidently. Plan service and sales activities effectively and maintain records/service reports to properly meet the expectations of individual accounts and also corporate customers. Understand equipment installation and maintenance/troubleshooting of dosing, controls, and monitoring systems. Account profitability maintenance, review of products and services sold to accounts on an ongoing basis. What You'll Bring 3+ years of experience in dairy, brewing, beverage, or food processing industries. A valid driver’s license with the ability to work flexible hours is required. This role requires travel at least 70-80% of the time, including overnight travel to possibly accommodate cleaning operations and preventative maintenance schedules within production plants. Ability to work in an industrial plant environment and remain compliant with all company and customer plant, safety, and OSHA requirements. Proven ability to carefully plan project activity and work independently. Fundamental understanding of various food manufacturing sectors including meat, poultry, dairy, and brewery/beverage. Experience in a manufacturing Quality Assurance setting, technical or production department. Efficient territory self-management, priority setting and managing requests, and allocation of company resources. Time Management skills for monthly service and reporting, presentation skills. Understanding of food industry HACCP programs as well as BRC, SQF, CFIA, and USDA food regulations. Detailed understanding of current food safety-related issues including food-related pathogens, extended shelf life technologies, and understanding of food/beverage spoilage mechanisms. Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Engineering. Dairy, Food Processing, and/or Beverage plant experience. Perks!
