OverviewSofttek Government Solutions is looking for a UX / UI Designer to join our federal technology services practice. We are looking for a consummate professional that can confidently design stellar user experiences as part of an agile development team creating Microsoft SharePoint applications. You should possess serious User Experience (UX) skill and User Interface (UI) Design skills, have a passion for designing intuitive user experiences. Please be a true UX guru and designer that has proven hands-on experience in facilitation and collaborating with users, subject matter experts, and software developers to create seamless designs and the successful implementation of UI / UX best practices and principles on full-life cycle development projects. In this role, you will design experiences backed by Microsoft SharePoint server for a Gov't client in Washington, DC. You will work directly with the government's product owner to analyze user journeys, develop software UI designs, and validate / test front ends experiences. You will collaborate with a small agile team of SharePoint Developers, Database Developers, and System Administrators. You will largely work remotely from home, but you must make yourself available to commute into the client office for picking up IT equipment or joining important meetings as requested by the client so please reside in the Washington, DC area.ResponsibilitiesCreate overall concepts for the user experience within a business webpage or product, ensuring all interactions are intuitive and easy for customersBuild storyboards to conceptualize designs and convey project plans to clients and managementAccount for and track the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a designDesign the aesthetics to be implemented within a website or product, from the layout menus and drop-down options to colors and fontsBuild proof of concept examplesActively participate in product design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment.Conduct testing of completed applications, websites and software to assess user experienceEducationRequired Education : Bachelor's degreeExperienceRequired Experience :4+ years of experience working as a UX / UI Designer on development teamsExperience using design tools such as Balsamiq, Invision, or similarExperience leading user customer journey mapping exercisesExperience designing and / or applying visual style guidesPreferred given for experience designing for Microsoft SharePoint but not requiredActive listening and effective adjustment to feedback received from team membersAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work flexiblyStrong written and verbal communication skills criticalDesire and willingness to train other team members on processes and proceduresUS CitizenshipRequired Clearance :Must be eligible for a TS clearanceAbout Softtek Government SolutionsSofttek Government Solutions is a professional services firm focused on addressing our nation's most complex threats and challenges.
