Studio Manager / Personal Assistant to the Artist job at Society Staffing. Brooklyn, NY. Studio Manager / Personal Assistant to the Artist Division: Art / Studio Manager Location: Brooklyn, NY 11238 Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 Schedule: Monday to Friday Hours: 9 AM – 6 PM Benefits: Health insurance, 10 days of paid time off, 5 sick days, and 401(k) eligibility after the first year. Position Overview The Assistant to the Artist plays a critical role in providing high-level administrative and operational support to both the artist and the studio. This multifaceted position ensures the smooth operation of the artist’s professional and personal affairs, while supporting the studio’s overall administrative and logistical functions. This is a hands-on role suited for a highly organized, resourceful, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about the arts, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, possesses strong problem-solving capabilities, and exhibits the ability to manage multiple priorities with the utmost discretion and professionalism. This passion for the arts should translate into a genuine enthusiasm for supporting the creative vision and day-to-day operations of the artist and studio. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate and maintain the artist's professional and personal calendar. • Schedule and confirm appointments, meetings, and studio visits. • Arrange complex travel itineraries, including accommodations and ground transportation. • Manage personal and professional correspondence on behalf of the artist. • Maintain and organize the artist’s workspaces and office. • Oversee light-touch and high-touch renovations for professional and personal properties. • Attend meetings as needed and assist with client management. • Perform various personal and professional tasks and errands as required. Studio & General Operations • Manage studio inventory, supplies, and equipment maintenance. • Oversee artwork shipping logistics and inventory management. • Supervise and maintain property upkeep and organization, coordinating cleaning services and vendors. • Liaise with contractors, repair services, and utility providers. • Maintain budgets, process invoices, and prepare expense reports in collaboration with bookkeepers and accountants. • Organize and maintain physical and digital filing systems. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in personal or executive support, office management, or a similar role. • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. • Experience in property or facilities management. • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy. • Proven track record of proactive problem-solving and solutions-oriented thinking. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Artlogic and Notion platforms. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. • Familiarity with art handling, gallery/museum operations, and collection management. • Knowledge of art world protocols, practices, and industry standards.
