Full Description

About the position Founded in 2024 under Snail Games, Studio Sirens is a development team focused on prototyping innovative gameplay systems, crafting bold new IP, and co-development projects. Blending technical precision with narrative ambition, the studio brings immersive worlds to life through a gameplay-first approach, supporting major releases while forging its own creative path within the Snail Games portfolio. We are seeking an experienced DevOps & Build Engineer to support our Unreal Engine development pipeline and our online game infrastructure. The primary focus of this role is ensuring reliable, scalable Unreal Engine build and deployment workflows, with additional responsibility for supporting online server environments. This hybrid role combines build engineering, automation, and DevOps responsibilities to keep our development workflows efficient and our MMO server environments stable. You will report to the Engineering Director and collaborate closely with engineers across the studio. Several team members currently support our build and server systems as needed; this role will take on primary day‑to-day ownership, bringing consistency, focus, and long‑term stability to these workflows while maintaining shared knowledge across the team. Responsibilities • Design, maintain, and optimize Jenkins pipelines and build infrastructure for Unreal Engine projects, including automated cooking, packaging, deployment, testing, and parallelized build execution across multiple nodes. • Administer Perforce, including streams, workspaces, permissions, and performance tuning. • Provision, configure, and maintain MMO server environments across development, staging, and production. • Deploy and support dedicated servers, backend services, and related infrastructure. • Manage and monitor databases such as MongoDB and Redis. • Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts using PowerShell, Python, C#, and C++. • Collaborate with engineers across the studio to ensure smooth asset and code integration. • Document processes, workflows, and best practices. • Work with existing engineers who currently support build and server systems, gradually taking on primary ownership while maintaining shared knowledge across the team. • Proactively identify opportunities to improve build times, stability, automation, and overall workflow efficiency. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, build engineering, or infrastructure roles. • Strong grasp of DevOps fundamentals and best practices. • Proficiency with C#, Python, and PowerShell. • Experience administering Windows environments (development, build, or server systems). • Understanding of basic networking concepts (DNS, firewalls, load balancing, NAT, VPNs). • Experience with Unreal Engine build processes (UAT/UBT). • Hands‑on experience with Perforce administration. • Experience configuring and maintaining Jenkins pipelines and build nodes. • Experience provisioning and managing MMO or multiplayer server environments. • Experience with MongoDB and Redis. • Familiarity with containerization and infrastructure as code concepts. • Strong troubleshooting skills across build, deployment, and server environments. • Comfortable working with distributed teams and communicating clearly across disciplines. Nice-to-haves • Familiarity with secrets management tools or practices (e.g., Vault, cloud KMS, environment‑based secrets). • Experience parallelizing builds using Jenkins with multiple build nodes. • Experience optimizing large‑scale Unreal Engine build pipelines (TB‑scale projects). • Proficiency with C++. • Linux server administration experience. • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, Splunk). • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). • Familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes). • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD. • Experience with console development environments (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch). Benefits • True focus on work/life balance • Paid company holidays, vacation, and separate sick leave • Medical, dental, vision, and Life/LTD • 401k with company match
