Position Overview: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of assigned projects, with full accountability for financial performance, schedule execution, and client satisfaction. This role leads projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring work is delivered safely, profitably, and on schedule. In addition to project execution, the Senior Project Manager plays a key leadership role in mentoring, supporting, and helping supervise the Project Management team—driving accountability, consistency, and development across the group. This is a high-ownership role requiring strong leadership in both the field and office, with a focus on execution, accountability, and results. Key Responsibilities Project Financial Ownership · Own gross margin performance on all assigned projects. · Manage estimate vs. actual performance and implement recovery plans when needed. · Identify financial risks early and proactively mitigate exposure. · Lead change order strategy, pricing, and execution. · Ensure strong cost control practices are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Project Execution & Delivery · Lead projects from kickoff through closeout with full accountability. · Ensure all work is executed in accordance with contract documents and company standards. · Drive proactive planning and execution, eliminating reactive problem-solving. · Maintain high standards of quality and field execution. · Conduct regular job-site visits to verify progress, productivity, and alignment with plan. Scheduling & Resource Coordination · Coordinate closely with the Scheduling on manpower planning. · Ensure proper allocation of labor, equipment, and materials across projects. · Monitor milestone adherence and proactively address schedule risks. · Drive efficient use of resources to eliminate downtime and waste. Forecasting, Billing & Project Controls · Maintain accurate cost-to-complete forecasting on all projects. · Ensure timely and accurate billing in alignment with project progress. · Manage WIP, backlog, and financial reporting requirements. · Support collections and resolve billing or contract issues when needed. · Maintain documentation to protect the company’s contractual position. Field Leadership & Team Alignment · Work directly with Superintendents and Foremen to drive execution and accountability. · Reinforce clear communication between field and office teams. · Hold project teams accountable for productivity, safety, and quality standards. · Support and mentor Project Managers. Client & Stakeholder Management · Build and maintain strong client relationships. · Lead project meetings, updates, and communication. · Resolve issues quickly and professionally to protect relationships and outcomes. · Represent the company with integrity and professionalism at all times. Safety Leadership · Ensure all projects operate under strict adherence to company safety standards. · Promote a proactive safety culture on every jobsite. Qualifications · 8+ years of construction project management experience with proven P&L ownership. · Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and cost control. · Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule while protecting margin. · Effective leader who can hold field and project teams accountable. · Strong communicator with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders. · Highly organized, results-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. · Self-driven professional who prioritizes individual performance. Preferred · Experience in self-performance or infrastructure-related work. · Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. · Familiarity with MDOT, GLWA or similar public work.
