The SMB Team is the fastest-growing digital marketing and coaching business for attorneys nationwide and we are looking for a Fractional Business Officer Team Lead to join our team! The Fractional Business Officer Team Lead leads the FBO Department while also directly serving a smaller portfolio of clients. This role acts as a strategic partner to law firm leadership teams, driving operational excellence, improving performance, and implementing growth strategies. This leader balances departmental oversight with hands-on client work, dedicating time per month to direct FBO service delivery to up to 15 total clients. Key Responsibilities: • Department Leadership: • Serve as the leader of the FBO Department, promoting a positive, productive, and collaborative culture. • Participate in the sales process as needed, clearly articulating the value of FBO services to prospective clients. • Lead weekly FBO Level 10 (L10) Meetings to ensure alignment, visibility, and issue resolution. • Conduct weekly one-on-ones with direct reports to provide guidance, coaching, and accountability. • Drive team KPI creation, tracking, and achievement. • Lead resource planning and ensure proper allocation across client workloads. • Develop, optimize, and standardize departmental processes to enhance efficiency and operational excellence. • Client Service: • Maintain a direct service workload of approximately 15 clients per month, providing FBO services to multiple law firms. • Guide clients in operational planning, financial management, performance improvement, and strategic growth. • Compile and deliver reports on client performance, internal team metrics, and departmental outcomes to senior leadership. • Workshops & Events: • Present at and support company workshops, Master Circle sessions, and weekly trainings as needed. Requirements • Executive Leadership: • Minimum 10 years in an executive role managing at least 5 direct reports, with proven experience in accountability, goal setting, and KPI tracking. • Legal Industry Expertise: • At least 3 years working directly with law firms in a coaching, consulting, or fractional capacity. • Operational & Financial Acumen: • Must have built and managed operations for a company with $5M+ annual revenue. • Experience owning and managing a company budget. • Tech Proficiency: • Skilled in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications. • Professional Skills: • Highly organized, adaptable, proactive self-starter. • Strong strategic advisory capabilities across operations, technology, and financials. • Excellent verbal and written communication. • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. • Skilled in sales and value communication. • Creative problem-solver with the ability to think outside the box. • Assessments & Systems: • Experience with Kolbe, DiSC, or Predictive Index. • Software Familiarity: • CRMs, CMS, intake platforms, and accounting systems. • Travel: • Ability to travel for quarterly workshops as needed.
