Role SmarterDx is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to build out the core functionality for our Analytics platform, and in so, have an immense influence on all aspects of the product and business. The responsibilities are expansive, and will involve data modeling and transformation, quality monitoring, metric development, support BI dashboards, and data infrastructure administration for tools we use for all of the above. This role will serve as a foundational member of the “Core” Analytics team, and will inherently shape our culture and choices as we grow the team. **This role is fully remote within the US** What You'll Do You’ll be working on the biggest big data challenges the company faces and will execute across specialties, such as: Technology Develop expertise in our entire data stack, from ETL, to intentional data modeling, to various types of consumption by internal and external users (AI, BI, reports, exports, etc.). Build a standard data layer across our customers which abstracts away and monitors for inconsistencies and known errors in data ingestion. Create a reliable metrics layer that can be used across teams and tools, and be deeply involved in its technical and philosophical governance. Healthcare Data Expertise Design a well modeled schema that reflects the clinical and revenue cycle data we work with (EHR, Claims, Application data, Salesforce), as the foundation which can be used for many different products Use healthcare domain expertise to build, maintain, test, and monitor data marts which support reporting and analytics for various stakeholders Conduct data driven investigations into trends and anomalies impacting growth, customer success, finance, product delivery, and insight reliability. Develop internal and external reports/dashboards that demonstrate SmarterDx’s value to our customers, and uncover opportunities for improvement Internal Stakeholder Engagement Empowering internal team members through education and training to perform their own analytics. Working with Product experts and leadership to create, refine, and maintain metrics that answer crucial questions. During business hours, participate in a rotation of engineers that diagnose, triage, and solve production data issues should they occur. What You Bring 5+ years of experience in data as an analyst, engineer, or scientist 2+ years working with healthcare data (clinical, billing, or both) Experience in startups or scaling mid-sized businesses Technical skills: SQL (Advanced) Data Modeling (Advanced) Able to use a variety of paradigms where appropriate (3NF, Kimball Dimensional Modeling, Inmon Data Warehousing, Data Vault) dbt (Advanced) Python for EDA (Proficient) Pandas, Matplotlib, etc. Prior BI tool experience (Familiar) Nice To Haves Expertise in managing Analytics as a customer-facing product Familiarity with a formal semantic layer (Cube, dbt Metric Flow, Snowflake Semantic Views, etc) Prior participation in explicit metric governance organizational structures High level of competency in building extensible and maintainable BI dashboards Past experience migrating vendors for major components (BI, database, ETL, etc.) Identify as a recovering Data Engineer who wants to get into Analytics Our Tech Stack DB: Snowflake ELT: dbt cloud Orchestration: DBT / AirFlow BI: Hex (internal) and Evidence (external) Compensation $150,000 to $180,000 salary + equity incentives #LI-Remote Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision – Comprehensive plans with leading insurance providers, covering 90-100% of your premiums and 70-90% for dependents, depending on the plan.
