Associate Corporate Counsel or Corporate Counsel Location: This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside near one of our office locations. Who You’ll Work With Global Services is comprised of collaborative, inclusive, cross-functional teams that work together to support our corporate functions. Our teams include Information Technology, Legal, Information Security & Governance, Marketing, Operations, Finance & Accounting, People, and our Executive Office. We are expanding our in-house legal team and seeking a motivated, detail-oriented [Associate] Corporate Counsel to support a broad range of commercial contracting legal matters. You will report to the Sr. Corporate Counsel and work closely with business leaders, contributing to initiatives across the entire company. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working independently, and want early exposure to complex legal and operational issues. What You’ll Do • Provide front-line legal support for all divisions and service and product offerings • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to review compliance measures and formulate responses • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to develop and implement tracking and auditing programs to monitor ongoing compliance requirements • Review and negotiate commercial contracts to mitigate contractual risk in accordance with Slalom policies, legal requirements and business specifications • Drive internal alignment on timeline and content, preparing and driving escalations to management, administering the negotiation process, and handling internal approvals • Ensure the substantial terms and conditions of the signed contract will be conveyed to those who are responsible for carrying them out • Advise and counsel internal clients with respect to the legal policies and legal implications of proposed transactions and policies; maintain open communication and good working relationships with both internal clients and clients of Slalom • Structure and draft agreements, amendments, addenda and other documents to new and existing client contracts • Train internal clients on relevant legal issues, policies, and processes • Develop a deep understanding of Slalom’s business, services, respective business models, and customers, as well as the contract landscape with the major customers. • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work under time-sensitive deadlines, increase efficiencies for handling a significant volume of contracts, and be productive in fast-paced environments with multiple competing priorities • Collaborate with Legal team to share best practices, implement risk management strategies, craft negotiation strategy and follow Slalom directives, policies and procedures What You’ll Bring Associate Corporate Counsel • 2-3+ years of relevant work experience transactional experience in sophisticated legal environments, with an emphasis on contract review and legal writing. J.D. from an accredited law school • Initiative and ability to be proactive and use mature judgement to take calculated risks within defined boundaries • Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to clearly and concisely express contract issues and analysis, as it pertains to business and legal concerns to management, colleagues and peers • Keen business sense, with the capability and willingness to understand not only the legal but also the commercials details • The ability to conduct win-win negotiations and find creative business-oriented solutions to legal issues, balancing legal risks against business interests Corporate Counsel • 5-8+ years of relevant work experience transactional experience in sophisticated legal environments, with an emphasis on contract review and legal writing. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: For the Associate Corporate Counsel position the salary range is $145,000 to $175,000 and for the Corporate Counsel position the salary range is $175,000 to $220,000 In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.
