Business Analyst, Finance Focus, Remote Skyline Title Support is hiring a Business Analyst to support accounts receivable, collections, reconciliations, close-related activities, and Excel-based financial analysis. The primary focus of this role is to help break down and track receivables, research past-due balances, support collections backlog cleanup, and improve financial visibility. This role works directly with the CFO and closely with accounting and collections team members. It requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and comfort working through discrepancies, incomplete information, and follow-up items. As capacity allows, this role will also support monthly close efforts and financial modeling. Role Overview This is a hands-on Business Analyst role focused on financial accuracy, organization, and follow-through. You will support accounts receivable and collections efforts through research, reconciliation, and tracking, while also assisting with close-related analysis and financial support tasks. This role is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, disciplined, comfortable owning work independently in a remote environment, and interested in building strong operational finance experience. Core Responsibilities Accounts Receivable, Collections, Reconciliation, and Financial Analysis • Reconcile client payments against invoices, balances due, and system records • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, disputes, unapplied cash, and variances • Prepare and maintain accurate outstanding balance statements and supporting schedules • Analyze accounts receivable aging, collections activity, and payment behavior trends • Identify drivers of delinquency and support strategies to improve collections performance • Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, reconciliations, and analysis tools • Support budgeting, forecasting, financial close, and ad hoc financial and operational analysis • Conduct audit-style reviews to ensure data integrity and traceability Financial Analysis, Financial Close Support, and Process Support • Document workflows, and controls related to billing, collections, and cash application • Prepare close-related schedules and variance explanations • Build and maintain Excel-based tracking, reconciliations, and analysis tools • Support financial models, scenario analysis, and ad hoc analysis under CFO direction • Assist with budgeting support and one-off financial analysis as needed Communication and Stakeholder Support • Communicate clearly with internal teams and external clients as needed • Interact directly with clients to explain billing, research questions, and resolve discrepancies in a professional and confident manner • Assist with collection or clarification calls as required • Support cross-functional collaboration between finance, operations, and leadership Required Qualifications • 1 to 3 years of experience in business analysis, financial analysis, accounting support, or AR-related roles • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail • Experience with accounts receivable, reconciliations, billing data, and an understanding of accounting concepts • Advanced Excel proficiency required, including formulas, lookups, pivots, and modeling • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines remotely • High standards for accuracy, follow-through, and documentation Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field • Experience in real estate, title, mortgage, due diligence, or professional services • Experience analyzing collections, AR aging reports, or cash application processes • Familiarity with analytics and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or AWS QuickSight is a plus • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, and Python is a plus • Comfort working with large datasets and financial systems such as QuickBooks What We Are Looking For • Ownership mindset and accountability • Analytical rigor and structured thinking • Strong problem-solving skills • Ability to work without micromanagement • Discipline, consistency, and reliability in execution • Strong follow-up and customer service skills • Clear communication and professional judgment • Team player and mission driven Additional Details • Fully remote, U.S. based • Reports directly to the CFO • Immediate opening This remote position offers flexibility combined with the opportunity to work on impactful projects that drive business success.
