Our ideal candidate is well-versed in all things Android with specializations ranging from best practices in release management to UI/UX to the ins and outs of the Android SDK. We're looking for someone who loves building products and features that delight and who cares deeply about creating great user experiences. The types of projects you work on, how you are placed within our org, your title and comp, etc. will be determined by your experience, expertise, area(s) of passion, and how that aligns with Skylight's needs. Responsibilities • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop and implement new features for our Android application • Write high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code in Kotlin • Develop and maintain a comprehensive test suite to ensure the quality and stability of the application • Optimize application performance and improve the user experience • Ensuring that our Android architecture enables scaling both our team and user-base • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality Requirements • Extensive experience (6+ years) developing native Android applications • Expertise in Kotlin programming language and Android SDK • Experience with Jetpack Compose • Strong understanding of Android application architecture and design patterns • Expertise in the release management cycle • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others • Passion for learning and staying up-to-date with new technologies and trends in Android development • Familiarity with Android design patterns and libraries (Coroutines, Flow, Hilt/Dagger, Room, Retrofit) Benefits Our competitive compensation package includes: • Competitive Salary + Equity Package • 401K matching • Wellness, learning, and home-office budgets • Health, Dental & Vision Medical Plans • Tremendous autonomy to set the direction of your work • Unlimited PTO • Company holidays on the first Friday of every month Equal opportunity employer Skylight is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
