Overview We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and materials handling procedures. Your expertise will support seamless shipping and receiving operations, inventory accuracy, and overall warehouse productivity. Responsibilities • Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment safely to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse. • Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, pack, and process orders. • Assist with order picking using pick techniques to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders. • Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to OSHA safety standards and mechanical knowledge protocols. • Perform heavy lifting tasks and materials handling duties in accordance with safety guidelines. • Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and operational efficiency. • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and improve workflow processes. • Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment such as cranes and forklifts; report maintenance issues promptly. • Assist in inventory management activities including stock rotation, cycle counts, and reporting discrepancies. Qualifications • Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar logistics environments. • Valid forklift certification with demonstrated proficiency in heavy equipment operation. • Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety practices. • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picker technology. • Experience operating cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery preferred. • Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and extended periods of standing or moving. • Prior experience in shipping & receiving procedures within a construction or industrial setting is advantageous. • Warehouse supervisor experience or leadership skills are a plus but not required.
