About the Company A rapidly growing technology provider in the water utilities sector is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead business development across Central Texas. This role will focus on selling advanced AMI, smart metering, and data-driven water infrastructure solutions to municipal and utility customers. About the Role The ideal candidate has a strong track record selling to municipalities, water utilities, and public-sector entities, and thrives in a consultative, solution-oriented sales environment. Responsibilities • Develop and execute a territory sales strategy targeting municipal water, wastewater, and utility clients • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution, including RFPs, bids, and proposals • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with utility directors, city engineers, public works leaders, and procurement teams • Position AMI, smart metering, and data analytics solutions as value-driven investments for water utilities • Collaborate with internal engineering, technical, and customer success teams to support complex sales engagements • Track opportunities and pipeline activity within CRM systems • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and local utility events • Monitor regional market trends, funding initiatives, and competitive activity Qualifications • 5+ years of B2B sales experience selling into municipalities, public-sector utilities, or water infrastructure • Proven success selling AMI, smart metering, IoT, SCADA, or utility technology solutions (water experience strongly preferred) • Experience navigating public procurement processes, RFPs, and long sales cycles • Strong understanding of water utility operations, regulatory environments, and funding mechanisms • Ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders Required Skills • Existing relationships within Central Texas or Texas municipal utilities • Familiarity with water loss, non-revenue water, meter data management, or utility analytics • Experience working with engineering firms, integrators, or channel partners • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field Preferred Skills • Competitive base salary + uncapped commission • Car allowance or mileage reimbursement • Comprehensive benefits package • Remote-based with regional travel Pay range and compensation package Competitive base salary + uncapped commission
