Position Summary: The Billing Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the billing department in a nursing home setting. This role involves managing billing processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and improving financial performance while maintaining the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: • Billing Operations Management: • * Supervise the billing staff and ensure accurate and timely processing of patient claims. • Oversee the preparation and submission of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO and private insurance claims. • Monitor accounts receivable, aging reports, and identify trends in billing issues. • Appeal denied claims • Deep understanding of applications such as Availity, Waystar, PCC (Point Click Care) and RFMS. • Compliance and Quality Assurance: • * Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to billing and reimbursement practices. • Conduct regular audits of billing procedures and follow up on discrepancies. • Financial Reporting: • * Prepare monthly financial reports for management, including revenue cycle analysis and performance metrics. • Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets and forecast financial performance. • Staff Management: • * Train, mentor, and evaluate billing office staff. • Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage professional development. • Patient and Insurance Relations: • * Address patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment plans. • Liaise with insurance representatives to resolve billing disputes and appeal processes. • Process Improvement: • * Identify opportunities for process improvements to optimize billing efficiency. • Implement best practices in billing and coding. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field (preferred). • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a billing or accounts receivable role, preferably in the healthcare or nursing home industry. • In-depth knowledge of billing software, medical terminology, and healthcare reimbursement methodologies. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing teams. Additional Requirements: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in healthcare billing. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
