Other information: Job Summary The Performance Improvement Data Analyst analyzes quality measures and formulates conclusions for performance and operational improvement initiatives. Translates data-driven insights into quality and safety decisions, performance/operational actions and develops data visualization. Partners with Project Managers to measure quality improvement patient centered care, within process and procedural systems. Define, find, collect, abstract, automate, consolidate, analyze, compare, recommend, report and display data that is directly related to, and meaningful to, making informed decisions for the successful selection, completion and sustainability of quality, performance and operational improvement in alignment with organization-wide strategic initiatives. Partner directly with Project Managers, Leadership, Medical Directors and Executive Team Members to measure quality improvement efforts, specifically safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered, within processes and procedural systems. Essential Functions Create – design, develop, manage and sustain – clinical and non-clinical well-rounded data dashboards that drive organization and Quality Division strategic decision-making. Lead the selection, implementation and integration of data capture and analysis software. Maintain the software. Teach others how to use the software. Update software selection as needed for organization-wide and Quality Division effectiveness. Provide objective data in a manner that encourages and supports practical and rational organization-wide decision-making. Articulate your thought processes, reasoning and expected outcomes to Leadership in small and large group settings. Through analysis of data and desired outcomes, make recommendations for best data practices to support long-range organization and Quality Division goals. Lead the development of reasonable and innovative methodologies and approaches to effective data collection, validation, reporting and management, in support of SRH strategic growth plan. Develop value stream maps that accurately reflect current and potential future states, with appropriate supportive data sets. Integrate data into and collect data specifically to support value stream mapping and general process mapping as well as formal project processes, such as developing charters, defining and displaying metric trend lines, defining outlier boundaries, and measuring financial outcomes. Interface with IT partners to effectively request assistance. Necessitates robust knowledge of relational data sets. Utilize the IT tools and systems as appropriate to efficiently gather data. Ensure reported data is aligned with formal definitions and reconciled between results from similar definitions. Gain and apply knowledge regarding formal data definitions specific to regulatory bodies and other organizational partners. Reconcile data from numerous sources; report variances with clarity in definitions and other specifications. Anticipate and identify problems; design, analyze, quantify and recommend potential solutions. Education Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business, healthcare, leadership or related subject required. Master’s degree preferred. Experience/Training Must demonstrate at least 3 years of formal data analytics experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel or other data analytics software skills required. Previous experience in Lean, Six Sigma and Root Cause Analyses preferred. License/Certifications Certification in Lean, A3 Problem-Solving and/or Six Sigma strongly preferred. Other Skills Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required. Proficient data analysis skills and utilization of Microsoft Excel required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office and other computer applications to perform work. Must possess the ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple form. Must be highly analytical with a strong grasp of both quantitative and qualitative data. Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy. Must be able to learn unfamiliar concepts quickly. Capable of independent thinking. Must have the ability to develop and maintain positive, service-oriented relationships with all levels of healthcare professionals. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; when working in office. Repetitive tasks such as typing, sitting, answering phones, and interacting with computers and computer systems most of the day is a function of the position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. This position requires working in an indoor, environmentally controlled environment when in the office. Requires local (45-mile radius) travel regularly to perform duties at all enterprise locations, including two hospitals as well as throughout hospital outpatient services and multiple clinical service sites. This position is remote eligible. Must be able to work independently with little supervision in a home environment with privacy.
