Job Description Role: Operations Associate (Private Equity) Location: Charlotte, NC Compensation: ~$170,000 + Equity About the Role This role sits at the intersection of operations, finance, and value creation. You'll work directly with the investment and operating teams to evaluate deals, build operating models, support portfolio company initiatives, and drive post-close execution. It's a hands-on role for someone who wants exposure to both transactions and operational improvements-not just building decks. You'll spend your time analyzing performance, identifying levers, and helping operators execute the plan. Key Responsibilities • Support deal evaluation through financial modeling, due diligence, and market analysis • Work with the operating partners to build and track value-creation plans across portfolio companies • Analyze KPI trends, unit economics, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities • Partner with management teams to support execution on pricing, cost initiatives, process fixes, and reporting upgrades • Build dashboards, operating models, and post-close integration workflows • Assist in underwriting new opportunities, including industry research and sensitivity analysis • Maintain tight communication between deal team, operators, and portfolio leadership • Prepare clear, concise updates and presentations for internal and external stakeholders Qualifications • Strong financial and analytical foundation (banking, consulting, PE, or corporate development) • Experience with transactions, modeling, and due diligence • Ability to work cross-functionally with operators, finance teams, and executives • Clear communicator with the ability to simplify complex information • Comfortable diving into data, asking questions, and proposing solutions • Detail-oriented with high ownership, urgency, and follow-through • High capacity and able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously • Familiarity with lower-middle-market businesses is a plus • Bachelor's degree required; MBA not required Compensation & Benefits • Total Cash Compensation: ~$170,000 (base + bonus) • Benefits: Standard medical, dental, vision • Additional: Travel to portfolio companies as needed • Schedule: Full-time, primarily in-person with some flexibility
