Job Title: Enrichment Coordinator Location: Watchung, NJ Hours: Part-Time (20–29 hours/week) Salary Range: $19.00 – $26.00/hour Job Purpose: The Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for organizing and implementing programs, outings, and one-on-one visits with sisters. This role supports the mission of the Sisters of Mercy by providing compassionate, person-centered enrichment programs that enhance quality of life. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, organize, and implement group and individual enrichment programs, outings, and activities. • Maintain open communication with the team and participate in resident meetings as needed. • Prepare and monitor the department budget in collaboration with the SLM. • Develop and distribute a monthly Calendar of Events, adjusting for unplanned events. • Collaborate with Food Services, Maintenance, and Environmental Services for special events. • Coordinate volunteers to enhance enrichment programs. • Ensure person-centered care while maintaining dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of residents. • Follow all safety procedures and report hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly. • Demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and professional communication with staff, residents, families, and visitors. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required: • Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience. • Minimum 2 years’ experience in gerontology, long-term care, or working with individuals experiencing dementia. • Ability to organize, motivate, and implement programs for diverse participants. • Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to provide guidance to staff and volunteers. • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport residents in a handicapped-accessible van. • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends. • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Preferred: • Experience in healthcare or religious organizations. • Familiarity with Catholic Church structures and teachings. • Strong organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Appreciation for the traditions and culture of the Sisters of Mercy. Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally. • Must be able to perform activities such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and crouching. • Must be able to safely use necessary equipment.
