The Commercial Excellence Manager is a cross‑functional, manager‑level role responsible for enabling the effectiveness of the Commercial Sales organization by owning key commercial processes, business systems, and data governance. Reporting to the VP of Sales, with oversight of Sales Director, this role serves as a strategic partner to the Commercial team, acting as the primary liaison between Sales and Corporate functions including Pricing, Finance, IT, Marketing, and Customer Service. This role is not administrative. It carries ownership and accountability for commercial workflows, CRM and contract platforms, and the integrity of sales, pricing, and contract data that drives quoting, pipeline management, and revenue execution. Key Responsibilities: Commercial Partnership & Process Ownership Serve as a trusted business partner to the Commercial Sales team, ensuring corporate processes support speed, accuracy, and execution in the field. Act as the voice of Commercial within Corporate functions and the voice of Corporate back to the Commercial organization. Evaluate, design, and implement process improvements that improve quoting velocity, pipeline discipline, and commercial effectiveness. Business Systems & Commercial Enablement Own business requirements and enhancements for commercial systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM) and Cobblestone Contract Management. Partner with IT and functional leaders to implement system changes supporting: Commercial programs Incentive tracking Workflow automation Periodic update of POP Reporting and analytics Assess commercial impacts of new programs or system changes and ensure alignment with Sales, Pricing, Finance, and Customer Service. CRM Administration – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commercial Governance & Management Own the credibility, accuracy, and integrity of the commercial pipeline and pricing data. Establish accountability for pipeline metrics, opportunity hygiene, and data governance. Manage system access, workflows, approvals (CAR forms), and data structure for Commercial users. Sales & Pricing Enablement Oversee the Sales and Pricing pipeline process to ensure accurate representation of: New business Renewals Lost business Economic assumptions Validate accounts and opportunities, including: New customer and lead approvals Account ownership changes Opportunity vetting and cross‑system validation Incumbency validation and integrity for quoting Serve as the business owner for Commercial CRM use, partnering with IT for technical execution. Pricing & Financial Data Integrity Partner closely with Pricing and Finance to maintain consistent and accurate pricing and economics data across Dynamics 365. Monitor key pricing and pipeline metrics to ensure alignment across systems. Validating project timelines and PAFE documents are being implemented timely Reporting & Analytics Produce and distribute commercial reporting that supports Sales, Pricing, Finance, and leadership decision making. Enable departments to leverage CRM and contract data for their own analytics. Ensure reporting reflects accurate pipeline status, economics, wins, and losses. Help with budgeting and MMR monthly meeting reporting Contract Management – Cobblestone Own the commercial contract management process, serving as the central conduit between: Commercial Sales CFO / Pricing leadership External legal counsel Administer Cobblestone workflows, approvals, and contract records in accordance with Delegation of Authority (DoA) and SOX requirements. Ensure contract terms are accurately captured, documented, and communicated to relevant stakeholders. Support internal and external audits through reporting and documentation. Drive continuous improvement of contract workflows, notifications, and system integrations. Provide system training and ongoing support to commercial and corporate users. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Experience: 3+ years of experience in commercial operations, CRM ownership, contract management systems, or business systems roles. Experience supporting sales organizations in a manufacturing or B2B commercial environment preferred. Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM tool. Experience with contract management systems (Cobblestone or similar), and reporting tools such as Tableau is a plus. Solid understanding of commercial processes, pricing workflows, and data governance. Ability to evaluate and improve business processes with a commercial mindset. Strong project management and prioritization skills. Effective cross‑functional communicator with the ability to influence without direct authority. High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity. Work Conditions: Location: Chesterfield, MO corporate office (hybrid as applicable). Work Hours: Monday- Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Travel Requirements: Occasional travel for commercial and leadership meetings and occasional customer support. Physical Requirements: Standard office environment.
