Are you a cloud technologist with a keen eye for detail and a passion for designing and managing scalable cloud environments? Join our dynamic team! The Cloud Engineer II role is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to meet business requirements and support the organization's growth. This role involves evaluating business needs, selecting optimal cloud services, and ensuring the efficient operation of cloud environments. As a Cloud Engineer II, you will document and design cloud infrastructure by evaluating business requirements and selecting optimal cloud services, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). In addition, you will automate workflows and provision resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) along with scripting languages to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers and security specialists, is essential to integrate cloud services into CI/CD pipelines and support application deployment, ensuring seamless and secure delivery of our solutions. Finally, you will play a key role in evaluating the organization’s AI opportunities to identify strategic approaches that accommodate rapid proof-of-value evaluation in addition to solutioning longer-term sustainability for production ready capabilities. The candidate will need to be bright, imaginative, and a capable technologist with strong communication skills, specifically seeking an environment where they will impact the direction of the organization and be a key contributor to overall success of the business. The pace is exceptionally fast at SNC, and our dynamic environment will see many new projects in the coming year. The Cloud Engineer II will need to be agile and flexible, as changes will be certain and frequent. As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with stakeholders, business systems analysts, and other project team members to understand their functional and non-functional requirements and design solutions that meet those needs. • Design and implement robust, high-quality architectural solutions that meet business requirements and align with the company’s technical strategy. • Hands-on development, writing, and deployment of code using various programming languages and frameworks. • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project management and development teams throughout the project lifecycle. • Conduct technical evaluations and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to improve productivity and efficiency. • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for architectural designs and solutions. • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable by conducting regular reviews and assessments. • Partner with business systems analysts to support the elicitation and cultivation of business needs to translate into detailed requirements documentation; focus will be on the cloud architecture aspects of the needs to support business process efficiencies. Qualifications You Must Have: • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 2 or more years of relevant experience • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education • 2-3 years' experience implementing and supporting AWS and Azure Cloud Operations • 2-3 years' experience implementing and supporting VMware (VRealize, VRealize Operations, VRealize Automation) • 2-3 years' experience with IT Operations Monitoring Tools (PRTG, VROperations, Solarwinds) • 2-3 years' experience designing and implementing cloud solutions using IAAS and PAAS • Ability to Trouble shoot Network connectivity between Server Infrastructure • Understanding of Active Directory Federation Services • Ability to configure and manage Windows and Linux servers • Certifications o AWS Cloud Foundations OR o Azure Fundamentals Qualifications We Prefer: • Extensive knowledge of enterprise architecture, system integration, and software development methodologies. • Experience with large language models (LLMs) and their implementation. • Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Azure, and related services. • Familiarity with data pipelines and their implementation. • Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations in solution design. • Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines and automation. • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python), database scripting, and hands-on experience with writing and deploying code using Infrastructure as Code best practices (e.g., YAML, HCL) • Strong understanding of on-premises architecture and integration with cloud services. • Strong knowledge of project planning/execution and solid understanding of analysis and software development lifecycle methodologies • Knowledgeable on the technologies that support day-to-day business execution in addition to business application development, implementation, and sustainment • Strong presentation, facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.
