To strengthen our Digital team, we are looking for a Digital Business Development Director - North America ROLE The North America Digital Business Development Director is responsible for driving growth and expanding the digital business portfolio by identifying and developing new business opportunities and acquiring new clients in the digital sector in the Americas region. This position focuses on growing SICPA’s digital security solutions that provide critical value to government and state-level entities. The Digital Scale-up Team is a newly formed unit in the Digital Research and Innovation teams dedicated to scaling up innovative products to serve governments leveraging state of the art digital technologies. We are looking for a person to join our team with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to identify problems, take ownership, and drive innovative solutions with minimal guidance while balancing technical excellence and business value. The role requires an individual with deep knowledge of digital technologies and a proven ability to navigate digital ecosystems, combining technical understanding with strong business acumen to unlock opportunities and drive strategic growth. The Digital Business Development Director will develop sales strategies, engage with clients to build long-term relationships, and support the execution of business initiatives in the digital space. This position will report to the Head of New Digital Business Development and is responsible for capturing new digital business across key markets. Your Responsibilities • Define and implement a business development strategy specifically for the digital business vertical, ensuring alignment with SICPA’s overall digital growth objectives. • Identify and assess new business opportunities in digital sectors, including government digital transformation projects, and solutions related to digital payments, digital traceability, and secure transactions. • Build and maintain relationships with new clients in the digital space, focusing on government clients. Work to expand SICPA’s digital footprint by targeting relevant stakeholders, decision[1]makers, and key accounts in both local and international markets. • Leverage existing relationships and create new partnerships in governmental ecosystems to increase awareness of SICPA’s digital offerings and solutions. • Develop and implement sales strategies to capture large-scale digital projects and long-term contractual agreements. Drive business opportunities from the initial stages to contract signing, ensuring clear communication and alignment with the internal team. • Collaborate closely with the Product Teams and Technology Experts to ensure SICPA’s digital offerings are competitive and effectively positioned in the market. • Gather market intelligence through research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to keep abreast of trends and forecast future opportunities in the digital business space. Utilize this data to refine the business development strategy. • Serve as the key point of contact for major digital accounts and ensure seamless coordination across the internal teams to deliver value. Oversee project execution and ensure high customer satisfaction for all ongoing digital business initiatives. • Actively represent SICPA at digital and technology-focused events, conferences, and market forums to drive brand recognition, generate leads, and stay informed about the latest industry developments. PROFILE At least 10 years of experience in digital business development, sales management, or a similar role, with a focus on digital technology solutions and services. • Strong understanding of digital transformation trends, including digital payment solutions, data traceability, AI-powered solutions, and other related digital technologies. • Proven experience in selling technology-based solutions to government and/or private sector clients. Knowledge of public sector decision-making processes and how they apply to digital transformation is a clear advantage. • Established network in the digital technology ecosystem, including connections with digital technology vendors, start-ups, and governmental digital transformation offices. • Track record of success in identifying, negotiating, and closing digital business opportunities and managing long-term client relationships. • Ability to work across functional teams, collaborating with product development, marketing, and engineering to drive strategic business initiatives. • Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable to rapidly changing market dynamics, with the ability to identify new digital opportunities and execute plans effectively. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with high-level stakeholders, partners, and clients to influence and persuade effectively. • Fluency in English. Spanish language skills a strong plus. • High energy and the stamina to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and stakeholders. • Ability to operate autonomously and independently, but also work collaboratively within a global team environment.
