About the role Senior Software Engineer (AI-Enhanced Platform Development) Shipium is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of our core platform. In this role, you'll be a key player in designing and developing scalable, AI-enhanced microservices and supply chain optimization solutions for some of the world's largest retail companies. What you'll do Platform Development: Design and build our core platform services and APIs, ensuring they are scalable and reliable. AI-Enhanced Development Leadership: Leverage modern AI tools for code generation, automated testing, and intelligent monitoring to increase team productivity and system reliability. Technical Collaboration & Planning: Partner with product managers and other engineering teams to architect solutions that address complex customer challenges, using AI-powered analysis to inform your decisions. Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer: Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers, helping them adopt platform tools and AI best practices while fostering a collaborative engineering culture. System Reliability: Own the performance of production systems, debugging critical issues and implementing monitoring solutions to ensure we meet our service level agreements (SLAs). Innovation: Research and evaluate emerging AI development tools and platform solutions to continuously enhance our development process and system capabilities. Qualifications Experience: 5-8 years of progressive experience in platform engineering, distributed systems, or software development. Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, TypeScript, or Go. Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools. Proficiency with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) databases. Experience with real-time streaming and batch processing systems. AI Tools Exposure: Familiarity with AI development tools like Claude Code, code generation models, and AI-powered testing frameworks is a significant plus.
