The Communications & Outreach Specialist will support YoungStar Connect’s mission by driving internal and external communications, implementing outreach strategies, and managing content across various platforms. This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to create and deliver communication materials that enhance the program's visibility and impact.
Candidates should have an Associate’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in communications or community outreach. Experience in early childhood education is a plus, and Spanish bilingual skills are preferred.

Your Role: As the Communications & Outreach Specialist, you will support YoungStar Connect’s mission to elevate early education and out of school time care providers by driving internal and external communications. This role focuses on implementing outreach strategies, managing social media and newsletter content, producing high-quality materials, and engaging stakeholders to strengthen the program’s visibility and impact. The Specialist will collaborate with the content, ERS rating, help desk, and coaching teams to customize, develop and/or deliver a wide range of communication content, which includes digital and print materials. What You’ll Do: Content Development & Management Assist in creating, editing, and publishing marketing materials, social media posts, and newsletter content to promote YoungStar Connect’s programs and initiatives Design visuals for posts, newsletters, and print materials that highlight YoungStar Connect’s services Utilize compelling and engaging messaging tailored to a variety of audiences (providers, families, and partners) Engage providers by developing service-based communication tracks Build a library of Wisconsin provider media (photos, videos, success stories) Create, and regularly meet with, an internal communication and outreach committee to support the work Outreach & Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and community organizations Implement and oversee 5 regional advisory committees, comprised of providers, to generate feedback on YoungStar Connect’s current service offerings Coordinate and support outreach efforts with providers, partners, and families (e.g. conference exhibiting, family event tabling) through local events and conferences to increase engagement and visibility across Wisconsin Manage swag and marketing materials to ensure availability at- and transportation to- local events and conferences Increase followers on social media.
