Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer Shelby Supply is a full-service electrical mechanical design and manufacturing company serving a wide range of industries including commercial, aerospace, and military products. We manufacture cables and connector harnesses as well as a wide variety of custom electrical assemblies as needed by our clients. Subject to background check. • **Please note this is an on-site position only, no remote option*** Key Responsibilities The primary responsibility of a Manufacturing Process Engineer is to develop and optimize manufacturing processes. Designing and improving manufacturing systems and processes to increase productivity and reduce waste. Implementing process control techniques and equipment which ensure consistent product quality. Collaborating with Purchasing, and other Team members to set up production methods that are cost-effective and efficient. Conducting tests and evaluations on processes, making necessary adjustments to processes and equipment to meet quality standards. Documenting procedures and process changes to maintain a high level of operational safety and compliance with industry standards. Key Tasks and Duties Apart from strategic responsibilities, Manufacturing Process Engineers undertake several daily tasks: Maintaining reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers. Developing innovative solutions to complex engineering issues. Monitoring and analyzing metrics while developing new continuous improvement opportunities. Utilizing process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies. Report on process changes and improvements that might affect other departments. Training and supervising staff in new development processes and technology. Education/Skill A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proficient in 3D CAD software, with a concentrated skill in SolidWorks. Ability to program CNC machines, as needed. Proven experience in process engineering, preferably in the specific industry of focus. Professional Engineering (PE) license can be advantageous, though not mandatory. Lean Manufacturing, or other related business and production methodologies are highly desirable. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis and process optimization tools. This is a M – F full time on onsite position without remote options.
