Sharpe Engineering & Equipment is seeking an experienced Account Manager – Technical Sales to manage, retain, and grow existing customer relationships across the food & beverage industry. This client-focused sales leader will deepen long-term partnerships, identify repeat project and expansion opportunities, and support ongoing growth across process, packaging, automation, and compliance solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with Engineering, Controls, and Project Management to understand customer needs, scope technical solutions, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery. This role is central to maintaining account health, driving recurring revenue, and upholding Sharpe’s Core Values: Integrity, Collaboration, Responsibility, Commitment to Stakeholders, and People-Centric Focus. Key Responsibilities Account Management & Retention Serve as the primary relationship owner for assigned existing customer accounts. Maintain strong executive and operational relationships within client organizations. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution. Retain and grow accounts through long-term partnership development. Account Expansion & Revenue Growth Develop and execute strategic account plans focused on: Repeat project work Cross-selling Sharpe capabilities (CIP, automation, service, packaging) Multi-project and multi-site engagements Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within current client portfolios. Drive recurring revenue streams through service, system upgrades, and lifecycle support. Commercial & Technical Leadership Collaborate with engineering, controls, and project management teams to scope solutions aligned with customer needs and Sharpe’s margin expectations. Translate technical solutions into clear commercial value propositions. Support proposal development, pricing, and negotiations for existing clients. Strategic Alignment & Execution Maintain accurate CRM data for account plans, pipeline activity, and forecasts. Partner with the Director of Technical Sales to improve account management processes and standards. Represent Sharpe professionally at customer sites, meetings, and industry events. Why Join Sharpe? What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in account management or technical sales within food & beverage, packaging, automation, or related industries. Proven success growing existing customer accounts and managing complex projects ($500k–$5M+). Strong technical understanding of food & beverage manufacturing systems. Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills. Proficiency with CRM/ERP tools and Microsoft Office. Willingness to travel up to 30–40%.
