The work we do building families offers stimulation, challenge, and personal reward. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Patient Service Representative/Medical Assistant to provide coverage at our Norfolk, VA and Kempsville, VA offices (float). The general schedule is Monday-Friday 6:30am-4:00pm, with every 4th weekend and rotating holidays from 6:45am-12:00pm. Must have strong medical front desk skills. Willing to train the right candidate on the Medical Assistant responsibilities. How You'll Contribute: We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Medical Assistant/Front Desk is responsible for: • Answer phones and assist with clerical work • Check patients in/out, schedule appointments, collect payments • Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations • Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs • Document patient care services utilizing daily logs and patient records • Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels • Assist physician or ultrasound technician with various procedure • Assist with HSGs as needed • Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance • Assists with the clinical care of fertility patients What You'll Bring: • High School diploma; Associates degree preferred • Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications; accuracy and speed with data entry is required More important than the best skills, however, is the right person.
