Candidates should possess a BA or BS degree in relevant fields and have 2-5 years of experience in cost analysis or pricing. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with pricing databases are essential, along with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Position: Pricing Data Analyst Type: Full-Time Location: United States, Fully Remote Travel: 10% Position Summary The Pricing Data Analyst is responsible for developing compliant and competitive cost and pricing strategies to support government proposals and contracts. The analyst conducts market research on labor categories, material costs, and subcontractor rates to ensure pricing is both competitive and compliant with customer requirements. In partnership with capture, contracts, finance, and program management teams, the analyst ensures accuracy and consistency in pricing submissions, supports customer fact-finding and provides actionable insights that strengthen the company’s competitive positioning in federal acquisitions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collect, validate, and analyze cost and pricing data to support proposal development and program execution. Prepare cost estimates, price models, and supporting documentation Develop cost narratives, cost volumes, and pricing inputs for proposals and bids. Work closely with proposal, contracts, and program management teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of pricing strategies. Conduct “what-if” analyses, sensitivity studies, and scenario modeling to support pricing strategy and competitiveness. Maintain historical cost data, labor rates, material costs, and other cost elements to improve future estimating accuracy. Monitor actual costs against estimates to identify variances and trends. Collaborate Cross-departmental with Contracting to provide proposal development support Perform post administrative tasks as assigned Obtain cost data from subcontractors, vendors, and other suppliers Required skills and abilities Possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance BA or BS degree in preferred fields of (Business, Accounting, Finance, Math, or Economics) 2–5+ years of experience in cost analysis, pricing, or financial data analysis (government contracting or defense industry experience a plus). Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros) and financial modeling tools. Familiarity with pricing databases and market research tools for labor/material rates. Ability to resolve critical issues and ensure compliance with processes and government regulations Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, including flexibility to support non-standard workweeks Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new concepts, adapt to changing requirements, and apply feedback to improve performance Must demonstrate discipline and strong organizational skills What will make you stand out Understanding of government contracts and the underlying principles Knowledge of government contracting regulations and related software Comprehension of various contract types Knowledge of AI usage to develop and implement cost and pricing strategies Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write.
