Full Description

SESAC is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Nashville. In this role you will be responsible for managing assigned areas of accounting operations and ensuring accuracy, quality, and effectiveness in reporting. What You Will Be Doing: • Coordinating with the payroll team in the accurate posting and reconciliation of payroll accounts • Reconciling monthly accounts to ensure accuracy. • Preparing and recording monthly journal entries affecting cash, revenue, royalties and other accounts assigned. • Prepare monthly roll-forwards and schedules for royalties and payroll. • Monitoring and reviewing accounting records and related system reports for accuracy, completeness and consistency with department standards. • Supporting accounting administration/processing for portfolio companies by tracking royalty receipts, assisting with distributions and responding to inquiries. • Compiling and analyzing financial information and documenting business transactions, as needed. • Assisting in annual audits to help ensure compliance. • Producing error-free and timely accounting reports to support month end closing and other accounting activities. • Identifying errors and potential issues in accounting procedures and recommending ways to improve efficiency and accuracy. • Special projects as assigned. What Makes You Qualified: • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience. • Track record of exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative to define and resolve problems. • Familiarity with financial accounting statements systems (Oracle preferred). • Understanding of, or experience with general ledger function and the month-end/year-end close process preferred. • Hands-on experience with accounting software and a willingness and ability to learn new systems as needed. • Strong ethical conduct and an ability to maintain confidentiality. • Ability to multi-task and work as a team player. • Accuracy and attention to detail. This is a hybrid role that will require you to commute to our Nashville office a minimum of three days a week.
