Job Title: Data Warehouse Analyst -III (Remote) Location: Madison, WI Duration: 12 Months *Position is nearly 100% remote, with 1-2 in person meetings in Madison, WI per year. Overview: The Client is seeking two Business Analysts who will serve as a member of the Data Warehouse and Decision Support section. The Client team is responsible for the statewide longitudinal data warehouse (SLDS), development, system testing, analysis, and maintenance and integration of data in the SLDS, WISEdash and other reporting systems (Microsoft Fabric/Power BI). These systems require extensive K-12 sector knowledge and experience integrating complex data and developing dashboards and reports to convey that information to staff, school districts and the general public. This person will be a member of a team practicing the Agile/Scrum development methodology. This person will work on the transition of reporting and software features into technical requirements, such as epics, features, and stories following Agile/Scrum-based software development, as well as determine release plans and project scope. This position will work with and serve as a liaison between management and business units within The client external stakeholders, product owners, developers, and the scrum master and product owner to identify and analyze opportunities for improving reporting processes and business systems. This position will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing and documenting system requirements and business rules, and creating user stories. This position will also be responsible for creating functional requirements and specifications, preparing process flow diagrams, and assisting with quality assurance. Top Required Skills & 3-5 Years of Experience: Prior experience in data warehousing or reporting projects (3-5 years) Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation skills. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer dashboard use integration and dependencies Experience preparing business requirements and functional specifications Experience writing user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria Ability to estimate phases of work and contribute to project planning, including experience writing user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria. Experience using relational databases (writing queries, etc.) using SQL Server Ability to create test plans and perform application, reporting and system regression tests Ability to synthesize requirements and work with developers to create options/recommendation papers for decisions to be made by any stakeholder level. Required Technical Skills: Ability to work with both business/program area owners and translating their needs to developers. Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools to manage user stories and sprint backlogs. Experience using relational databases (writing queries, etc.) using SQL Server Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI reporting solutions. Preferred Experience: Minimum 2-5 years’ experience using Agile/Scrum Development Methodology Experience working with education software or reporting systems at the school, district, or state levels. Knowledge of data warehousing and reporting in the education sector (K-12/P20W). Experience using Asana to track and report on project milestones. Nice to Have Skills: Ability to synthesize requirements and work with developers to create options/recommendation papers for decisions to be made by any stakeholder level. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation skills. Knowledge of data warehousing and reporting in the education sector (K-12/P20W).
