Serco supports CMS, a federal agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services that administers the Medicare program and works in partnership with state governments to continue supporting eligibility determinations for consumers purchasing health insurance through the Federal Health Insurance Exchanges. As a Senior JAVA Developer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, implementing, operating, managing and maintaining applications. In this role, you will: Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications. Support and / or install software applications/operating systems. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Design, plan, and coordinate work teams. Provide technical support to project team members. Demonstrate expertise in a variety of fields, concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May report to an executive or a manager. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have: A Bachelor`s degree. 5+ years of experience with Java, or relevant open-source frameworks like Spring, Hibernate. Hands on experience on microservices framework like Springboot, Quarkus, etc. Analyze and troubleshoot application issues in a timely fashion. Enthusiasm for software development, innovation, and a desire to work in a great team atmosphere. Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, SOAP, RPC). Experience with GIT, Maven, and modern IDE’s (Eclipse/IntelliJ). Hands on experience on Container Technologies (like Docker, Podman), Container Orchestration Technologies like ECS, etc. Hands-on experience working on AWS Technologies such as S3, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, AWS Batch, CloudWatch, etc. Hands on experience working on and troubleshooting with SQL, Stored Procedures. Additional desired experience and skills: AWS Certification. Understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies. Ability to understand and create Terraform Script. Salary range: The range for this position can be found at the top of the posting. This range is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels. Actual base salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the scope of the role, relevant experience, job-related knowledge, education and training, key skills, and geographic market considerations. For roles available in multiple states, the range may vary to reflect differences in local labor markets. In addition to base salary, eligible positions may include other forms of compensation such as annual bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities.
